This should be at the mercy of MAYHEM MYA, who was only beaten just over 8l in a Haydock Listed contest, despite lacking fluency. Twilight Glory has shown enough in Irish points to be next best.
With Rabski having something to prove if the ground is worse than good to soft, the only two other options who have performed with credit this season are AUENWIRBEL and Kenyan Cowboy. Plenty has to be forgiven with all the rest but it’s possible that one or more could surge back to form and the market needs a check.
Irish point winner Monbeg Lane makes plenty of appeal while Everything’sontick (second choice) has strong claims on his effort here in November. BUCK’S BOGGLE shaped well enough over C&D three weeks ago to edge the verdict.
All four of these can be given a decent shout. Frenchy Du Large looked good at Uttoxeter and could prove hard to beat, despite the 9lb rise, but FARNE shaped well on her chasing debut last month and may not have to build too much on that to gain the day.
Bellatrixsa won two of her four starts when starting out over hurdles and should bring potential to this handicap hurdle debut, following a 205-day absence. However, WEST TO THE BRIDGE (nap) has fallen markedly in the weights and his performance last time out suggested that he may well be about to take advantage.
Barden Bella has obvious chances after her latest easy win but there is a nagging doubt at this trip. LEVEROCK LASS wasn’t at her best last time but she is a thorough stayer and is worth the nod.
Support for any of the handicap newcomers, Advantura, Rock Of Star and Jesse’s Lady would heighten interest in their chances. True Thoughts has as good a chance as most, especially with the blinkers back, but perhaps THE WIRE FLYER can return to his best.
The three recent winners all need considering, with Shutthegate preferred to Mickyh and Puzzle Cache. After better signs in recent starts, this might be the opportunity for AFTER THE FOX to win again.
