16:20 – Gossip

Last month’s C&D 1-2 Papas Girl and The Tron can go well, while Glorious Charmer and Louis Treize also enter calculations. The pair to appeal most are Jeans Maite and GOSSIP, with Scott Dixon’s mare marginally preferred. She ran well from a double-figure stall here on her reappearance last month and has fared better in that department today.

16:50 – Phoenix Aquilus

Mukha Magic wasn’t seen to best effect in a crawl at Newcastle last week and he should fare better here, while Beat The Breeze continues in good form and looks booked for another big run. Preference is for PHOENIX AQUILUS, who got off the mark at Wolverhampton last month and a 3lb rise might not be beyond him on that evidence.

17:20 – Tom Collins

The top two on the shortlist are TOM COLLINS and Charlie Arthur, who are closely matched on Wolverhampton running 12 days ago. The former is unexposed over this distance, while the latter has a good record at this venue. It looks an interesting rematch and preference for Tom Collins is only slight. Their biggest threat may be Johnny Boom, who is open to further progress back on the Flat.

17:50 – Totally Charming

Lammas won well here on his reappearance ten days ago and can feature despite his 4lb rise. Plastic Paddy and Gypsy Whisper can also contend but TOTALLY CHARMING looked well ahead of his mark when winning easily at Kempton on Saturday and he can make light of his 5lb penalty.

18:20 – Twistaline

Aries Lad faces a more realistic task today and needs a market check but this looks good for TWISTALINE. She came from well back to land a Lingfield handicap on last week’s stable debut and a repeat would likely suffice in this weak event.

18:50 – Miss Wombleton

Crazy Spin looks set to make another bold bid and is high on the list, while Magic Gem still has potential and Dubai Elegance and Hiding Dave also have something to recommend them. It might be worth taking a chance on MISS WOMBLETON, though, with headgear and a drop in grade both possible sources of improvement today. She has hinted at better on a couple of occasions.

19:20 – Fearless Angel (NAP)

An interesting event. Harry Three has looked very promising in a couple of Kempton wins and his trainer has done well in the better sprints here since the surface was relaid. Apache Star won well at Wolverhampton on his stable debut and remains capable of better but FEARLESS ANGEL (nap) won with plenty to spare back from a break 16 days ago and she may prove better than a handicapper this year.

19:50 – Deevious Beau

Several runners are very appealing in this strong race for the grade. Narrow preference is for DEEVIOUS BEAU, who has a very solid record in 6f AW handicaps and now returns to the scene of his two wins. Second choice is Patontheback who, like the selection, looks capable of further improvement in this sphere. Al Suil Eile, Starter For Ten and Toptime are also worthy of respect.
