Constitution Hill attempts to make it two from two over flights at Sandown on Saturday as the Supreme fancy faces five rivals in the Grade 1 Tolworth Hurdle.
Datsalrightgino and Mr Glass also put their unbeaten hurdling records on the line while hat-trick seeker Jetoile, Gary Moore’s Shallwehaveonemore and former Flat performer Whizz Kid complete the field.
Irish point recruit who created a really good impression when making a winning start over hurdles in a C&D novice 5 weeks ago, travelling strongly and quickening clear. Very exciting prospect.
Fairly useful and consistent in bumpers last season and 2-2 over hurdles, namely novices at Fontwell and Cheltenham. More to come and well worth a go at this higher level.
Jetoile
Trainer: Ryan Potter Jockey: Lorcan Williams Age: 7 Weight: 11st 7lbs
Placed just once in 4 Irish points but he’s quickly developed into a useful novice hurdler, making all in Chepstow maiden and Leicester novice around 2½m. Back down in trip here.
Trainer: Paul Nicholls Jockey: Harry Cobden Age: 6 Weight: 11st 7lbs
Dual bumper winner last season and has landed a 19.5f Chepstow maiden and 2¾m Newcastle novice since switching to hurdles. Shorter trip asks different question but he likely has more to offer.
Shallwehaveonemore
Trainer: Gary Moore Jockey: Jamie Moore Age: 5 Weight: 11st 7lbs
Made impressive winning bumper debut at Kempton in March and shaped with plenty of promise when second on Ascot hurdle debut, form which has been boosted by the third winning since. Sure to improve.
Whizz Kid
Trainer: Dr Richard Newland Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies Age: 6 Weight: 11st 7lbs
Useful on Flat (stays 1½m) in Germany so clearly quite an interesting recruit to hurdles but this is a tough starting point.
Timeform Verdict: CONSTITUTION HILL looked something out of the ordinary when scoring on his C&D hurdle debut and is strongly fancied to take the step up in class in his stride. Shallwehaveonemore shaped well when second in a decent race at Ascot on his hurdle debut and is feared most ahead of the Paul Nicholls-trained Mr Glass.
