16:00 – Alhammaam (NAP)

Better since fitted with a hood, ALHAMMAAM (nap) is half-brother to four winners over this trip and further, including a stayer and a successful hurdler, and remains open to further improvement now back up in trip. Seesawing is an obvious danger but he’ll need to settle better than in a couple of his 7f runs if he’s to see it out.

16:30 – Crazy Spin

A C&D winner from the front last spring, when justifying support at fancy prices, CRAZY SPIN bounced back to form last time and gets the nod. Laurentia, who’s run well a few times lately from wide stalls, is another to consider, while Recuerdame won’t mind the drop back from 1m2f. Last night’s Kempton runner-up No Diggity could go close once more if turned out quickly.

17:00 – Vignoni

This is weak and newcomer T Maxie, a sister to useful sprinter Charlie Fellowes, wouldn’t need to be anything out of the ordinary. Otherwise, VIGNONI achieved a deal more in his sole Flat start last spring than either Dark Flyer or Depart A Minuit managed at Wolverhampton last month, and won’t be found a better opening.

17:30 – Dors Toyboy

Ex-Irish Macs Dilemma did well to win at Wolverhampton (Tapeta debut), having blown the start and pulled hard, but it clearly wasn’t expected and he now has to prove that wasn’t a fluke. Split Elevens is more than capable in a new form of headgear but he’ll need the breaks if missing the kick as usual from stall 1, and this can go to DORS TOYBOY who’s had excuses since his runaway C&D win two months ago.

18:00 – Shadow Angel

This is hardly packed with proven winners, with frustrating maidens Arlo’s Sunshine and Vino Santo both trying to make it 16th time lucky. SHADOW ANGEL has fewer convictions than most, though, and is 3lb lower than when unlucky not to go closer over C&D last summer. Kraka ought to do better back up to 7f too.

18:30 – Monsieur Fantaisie

In-form maiden MONSIEUR FANTAISIE, who has been knocking at the door since fitted with blinkers, is taken to get off the mark. Second choice is Della Mare, who looks interesting back at classified level. Brazen Arrow, But You Said and Red Allure are other likely players judged on recent efforts.

19:00 – Mighty Power

Engrave, last year’s winner Bayston Hill and Kentucky Kingdom have 13 C&D victories between them and the latter pair are back on their last successful mark. Semser, who’s responded well to cheekpieces going on, and the well-handicapped Pledge Of Honour are two more with claims in a competitive handicap, but this mark looks within range for MIGHTY POWER, who did much better last time having fluffed the start when favourite previously.

19:30 – Brass Clankers

Several have possibilities in an open-looking classified event. The suggestion is last year’s winner BRASS CLANKERS, who returns here with Rhys Clutterbuck taking off a handy 3lb. Second choice is Jeremiah Johnson, who looks open to improvement back up in distance. Roby Mill, Miss Sligo and Thunderoad are also firmly in the mix.
