The top weight should appreciate the return to Polytrack and is preferred despite having a penalty to carry.

Bottom-weight MY AMBITION, who shaped promisingly the last twice, may be the answer to this open-looking handicap. Between The Sheets, who has respectable form claims, is second choice ahead of possible improver Roxzoff. The shortlist is completed by Shorts On and Small Print, who are interesting handicap newcomers for Roger Charlton.

Multiple course winner CHLOELLIE has had a quiet year but she ran well over a trip that stretched her last month and is reunited with Richard Kingscote, for whom she was close up in a better C&D race in April. Mr Dib Dab, Broughtons Compass and Roundel look the main dangers as Swiss Rowe has to prove the return to 1m will suit.

It’s worth giving another chance to HANOVERIAN KING on his return from a two-month break. He was fresh when scoring at Chelmsford in September and remains open to further progress at this level. His in-form stablemate Red Evelyn is second choice, ahead of Covert Mission. Rania looks another likely player, provided she gets a strongly run race back over 7f.
18:30 Minister For Magic
Having won over 1m3f on turf in her only start in Ireland, MINISTER FOR MAGIC is taken to add another win on her debut for new connections. L’Enclume with her major step up in trip is feared most, although Second Kingdom showed up very well on the first of his two starts, Fiesta De Vega did so in both of his races in 2020 and Devilry is a well-bred newcomer.

As regards the established handicappers, HAFEET ALAIN has an obvious chance on the back of his strong-finishing second at Wolverhampton and Uzincso holds solid claims kept to this C&D. Interesting handicap debutants La Tihaty and Alrehb are strongly respected.

The 8yo mare VOI is on a very long losing run but the form she showed towards the end of last year reads well in this extremely weak race. Last month’s Wolverhampton maiden winner Just Albert is an obvious danger, while Solent Scene at least showed a bit of spark last time, unlike the vast majority of his rivals
