It could be worth chancing SWORD EXCEED, who has dropped to a career-low mark and ran well when previously tried in cheekpieces/tongue strap. Porfin very much had the run of the race when scoring at Wolverhampton recently but is going the right way for this yard so further progress can’t be ruled out under a penalty. Thegreyvtrain is best of the others.

TWISTALINE is potentially on a good mark starting out for Michael Appleby so could be the answer. Splendid Isolation and Guitar are both potential improvers now handicapping so are potential threats, with Homemade Andrea another to consider.
15:10 – Yukon Star
YUKON STAR proved very green on his debut at Leicester in October but should be capable of much better on the back of a gelding operation/break given his pedigree and is narrowly preferred to his unraced stablemate Montesecco, who needs monitoring closely in the betting. Vespasian showed clear promise on his recent debut and can also play a big part in proceedings.

STAR OF EPSOM had a hopeless task from her position at Kempton last time and should be capable of picking up a small race like this, so she gets the nod. Northern made a successful handicap debut over C&D 17 days ago and is open to further improvement, with Cafe Milano also shortlisted following a good run at Wolverhampton.
