12:38 – Elixir De Nutz

Returning to this longer trip will suit Nassalam but he continually edged out to the right over his fences here last time and with that in mind he’s opposed with ELIXIR DE NUTZ, a Grade 1-winning hurdler who ran his best race yet in this discipline last time. Conversely, Annual Invictus ran his worst last time and, even if he’s back on song, the penalties spell danger.

13:10 – World Of Dreams

This may concern the two penalised horses. Essential Jaco won very easily at Lingfield but WORLD OF DREAMS may have achieved more at Hereford when attempting to concede weight to a very useful recruit off the Flat.

13:45 – Cochise

Top Man sets the standard judged on recent efforts but there are several others to note. One of those is COCHISE whose Flat form catches the eye and whose latest start over hurdles contained some promise, so he may be able to make a winning handicap debut in this sphere. Clear The Runway has shown more in qualifying for a mark and this move up from 2m offers additional hope for him, so he is third on the list.

14:20 – Eclair De Guye

This might not be quite so competitive as the numbers suggest. ECLAIR DE GUYE (nap) looked as though he might win Sandown’s London National until he slowed up approaching the last fence and the winner upheld that form when second in the Welsh National. Pemberley appeals as one of the better handicapped contenders and with the potential to improve again in a race of this nature. Salty Boy also needs a second look and I See You Well is always a solid proposition around here.

14:55 – Guguss Collonges

Several have dropped to attractive marks, including the veteran Finnegan’s Garden, who was competitive again last time out, and Enrichissant who has a bit more to prove on recent evidence but is still shortlisted. However, the likelihood of further improvement from GUGUSS COLLONGES earns him the vote, ahead of Finnegan’s Garden, and fellow youngster Morfee is also seriously considered.

15:30 – Hititi

A race named in memory of former trainer Zoe Davison, whose husband Andy Irvine runs three. Last year’s winner Mr Jack is handicapped to be competitive and Brown Bullet will be glad to see the back of fences, so a big run from either would not surprise. However, the suggestion is HITITI, who has the potential to be too well handicapped for these. Nashville Nipper is second choice, ahead of Storm Dennis.
