13:25 Newbury – Gallic Geordie
ITV Wednesday gets under way with this handicap chase over an extended 2m and I have no doubt GALLIC GEORDIE will take all the beating here for Sam Drinkwater and Richard Patrick. I was at Lingfield when this big beast won the other day and he had tons in hand. This is tougher class, but he’s really getting his act together from the right end of the handicap.

13:45 Leopardstown – Run Wild Fred
ITV are also in Ireland on Wednesday for this Grade 1 novice chase over 3m. I’ll take the recent Troytown winner RUN WILD FRED to score here for Gordon Elliott and the star Davy Russell. My hope has built up a worrying number of seconds before his big win at Navan, but he’s getting everything together now and he’ll be hard to pass if getting an early lead.
14:00 Newbury – Dashel Drasher
Now a handicap hurdle over an extended 2m 4f, where it’s hard to know how DASHEL DRASHER will take to going back hurdling. However, he’s very well handicapped and with plenty of rain around he should get the ground he loves. Jeremy Scott’s stable star was a little disappointing first time this term, but he should go out in front here and enjoy himself. He might well be hard to pass under Rex Dingle.
14:20 Leopardstown – Saint Roi
This is a Grade 1 hurdle over 2m and I’m a SAINT ROI groupie, so forgive me going in again. First time out might be the moment to catch the Willie Mullins runner under Mark Walsh. He looked a real Champion Hurdle horse when landing the County Hurdle at Cheltenham and while he was a flop last season, he’s still a young horse who might go places.
14:35 Newbury – Run To Milan (Each-Way)
This is a staying test with the Mandarin Handicap chase over 3m 2f. RUN TO MILAN has been lightly raced in recent seasons and was given a chance by the handicapper when he returned after a lengthy lay-off. He has been in good form since then and edged up the weights, but his last two runs are fair and he jumps and stays. The is a decent each-way chance for Victor Dartnall and Alan Johns.
14:50 Doncaster – Cool Mix
ITV also go to Doncaster for this handicap chase over 3m. COOL MIX might be able to outstay most of these for Iain Jardine and jockey Connor O’Farrell. The Scottish National fifth loves a staying test and while he’s a little in the grip of the handicapper, he’s been running well and has been dropped a few pounds here.

15:05 Newbury – Gringo D’Aubrelle
We’ve got a class field here in the Grade 1 Challow Novices’ Hurdle over an extended 2m 4f. I’ll chance the Irish raider here GRINGO D’AUBRELLE for Gordon Elliott and Denis O’Regan. The form of his maiden hurdle win last time looks very good to me and that Fairyhouse race had a deep field, with top trainers represented. He might well be good enough.

15:20 Doncaster – Kapga De Lily
Here’s a Listed Mares’ Chase over an extended 2m 4f. Venetia Williams and Charlie Deutsch have been in fabulous form this season and it might be hard to stop KAPGA DE LILY once again. The recent Ascot and Hereford winner is in great from and brings in a rating which gives her we very chance.
15:35 Newbury – Partoclus
Finally, this is a novices’ limited handicap chase over an extended 2m 6f. It’s a tough race, but I will go with PATROCLUS for Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville. My hope looked pretty good over hurdles at Doncaster last season, but then he found Sandown all too much. It might be that if he loves fencing and he’s one of the few in here well handicapped.
