15:55 – Bert Kibbler

It’s still early days to draw any firm conclusions on the effect of the draw, but two of the seven races run on the sprint track here since the Tapeta was laid have been won by horses starting from stall one. Birkenhead has that draw here and although inconsistent, he could well step up on this second start for the yard. The in-form I’m Mable is respected despite her 8lb higher mark, but it may be worth siding with BERT KIBBLER who showed good form on the Wolverhampton Tapeta earlier in the year and is proven fresh. The unexposed Desert Lime is another to consider, though another furlong may suit ideally.

16:30 – Scarborough Castle

SCARBOROUGH CASTLE wasn’t seen to best effect at Kempton and plainly has more races in him from this sort of mark. He gets the vote over Meadow Sprite and Aljaryaal.

17:00 – Ashington

Though he appears to be Brian Ellison’s second-string based on jockey bookings, ASHINGTON could be the answer to this trappy-looking race. Successful over hurdles and fences this year, he returns to the Flat on an attractive mark and is marginally preferred to his consistent stablemate Onesmoothoperator. Soaring Star is best of the rest, given that this trip appears to stretch Kentucky Kingdom.

17:30 – Royal Prospect

Plenty have possibilities but it might be worth siding with the resurgent 6yo ROYAL PROSPECT, who was a good third behind a major improver in his bid for a double at Newcastle last time and remains well treated on his old form. The hat-trick seekers Fitzrovia and Lucayan are feared most in that order, though another last-time-out winner Light Lily is respected. Eyes could make a serious impact if this sets up for her closing style, while others to consider are Abnaa and Biplane.

18:00 – Radetsky

Lots with chances, so at the likely odds it is worth siding with RADETSKY who hasn’t enjoyed the rub of the green on both his starts for Jane Chapple-Hyam and now returns after a wind op on a good mark. Custard The Dragon is another weighted to go well, with Chookie Dunedin, Impeach and Los Camachos all high on the shortlist too.

18:30 – Fast Beauty

A tricky race in which the suggestion is FAST BEAUTY, who was third under a positive ride in a Wolverhampton nursery last month and could make a bold bid on this drop back in trip. Berry Quick was also placed last time and could be a big danger if this sets up for his closing style. Bang On The Bell looks interesting if he can build on his encouraging effort in a Chelmsford novice, while there are several other nursery newcomers to keep an eye on including Rogue Storm and Sirius White.

19:00 – Beggarman

Most of the runners have claims in this interesting race but it might be worth sticking with Hughie Morrison’s progressive stayer BEGGARMAN, who is on a roll after two Polytrack wins and still looks feasibly treated. Both Mukha Magic and Victoriano are respected but the main threat could come from Socially Shady, who has been knocking on the door in his last three starts including a near miss behind the selection on his penultimate run.

19:30 – Burrows Seeside

Porterinthejungle could quite easily be a factor despite her break but she’s sure to be ridden forcefully down in distance and she might set it up for a closer. Both BURROWS SEESIDE and Lost My Sock could have this run to suit them, with Graham Lee’s mount edging preference. Patsy Fagan also enters the picture.
