I’m with Palmers Hill. He won well enough at Wetherby in November and that was off a mark of 130. He’s now 134 so he hasn’t been punished too much for that win, 4lbs is lenient. He was ninth in the Coral Cup last year too. He’s not a bad horse.
Buzz would’ve been worthy of going off favourite before his injury but there was always a doubt over his stamina. I’ve always been a Thyme Hill fan but he was disappointing on his return at Auteuil last month. The value lies with Ronald Pump. He was the only one that was in the race with Honeysuckle at Fairyhouse. There’s still a big day in Ronald Pump.
Remastered was going really well before he fell at Newbury last time out and if he’s over that, he’s the one to beat. However, I’m going for a value pick in Mr Hendricks, who is running for Christian Williams for the first time. He’s very in and out but with a new yard and a change of scenery, it might be the day to catch him.
I don’t have a major fancy in this one but Caribean Boy is an interesting one. He’s back down to a mark of 145, which is 1lb higher than when he beat Fiddlerontheroof in a novice chase last year at Newbury. He was disappointing at Cheltenham in November but 3m should suit him. Cheek pieces are on for the first time too. He’s an each-way player.
No Ordinary Joe and West Cork are at the top of the betting but I’m going for Llandinabo Lad. He ran well on his comeback run at Bangor in November behind Hunters Call. He trailed off a little as an novice hurdler last year but he can impress here. He’s dropping down in trip and he’s got a run under his belt which always helps. He’s a big each-way price.
