16:15 Gia Darling

A race which will surely go the way of a newcomer and the betting will provide more clues. GIA DARLING gets a tentative vote for the Gosdens ahead of Punda Maria, Makarova and Ducal Crown.

HELLO FROM PADDY POWER NEWS!

16:45 New Shepard

A low-grade nursery should be within the grasp of NEW SHEPARD based on his promising run over course and distance last time, so he’s preferred to last-time-out Lingfield scorer Buraback. Takeustothemoon made a sound enough start for Mick Appleby over 7 furlongs at Chelmsford last week and could have more to come back at 1m. Al Azhar rates a probable improver now handicapping.

17:15 Makkari

Morgan Fairy performed well enough at Wolverhampton to suggest she can win a maiden, particularly now stepping up to 1m, but she did give the odd flash of the tail under pressure and it may pay to oppose her with very well-bred Charlie Appleby newcomer MAKKARI.

Lingfield third Snap Ambush should be thereabouts, while Lovers’ Lane is another Godolphin-owned debutante who would merit plenty of respect if the betting vibes are strong.

17:45 Attentive

Drusilla, Loch Lundie and Second Star are interesting newcomers from good yards, while Lingfield fourth Minnie T is open to improvement and Show Lights may be able to leave her debut flop well behind. However, preference is for ATTENTIVE who was a good third at Wolverhampton on her second start and is open to further improvement. The Andrew Balding-trained debutante Drusilla is feared most.

18:15 Eagleway

Uzincso should give it his usual good shot at this venue, but there were no apparent excuses for him off this mark last time so he’s taken on with EAGLEWAY – who came clear with one very much at the top of his game at Southwell last week.

18:45 Mercian Hymn

It may pay to narrow this down to the three-year-olds. It required little more than hand riding from David Probert for MERCIAN HYMN (NAP) to score cosily enough on his first attempt over 1m 4f, so he could still be a step ahead of the handicapper.

Ivynator failed to make a significant impact over hurdles last month, but he’d won on the all-weather prior to that and is feared most. Mindspin is worth keeping an eye on in the betting now switching to handicap company after a break.

19:15 Ring Of Gold

Top weight RING OF GOLD has been in fine form this month, with a win at Wolverhampton and a good second over course and distance on Wednesday, and he’s taken to return to winning ways today.

Strategic Fortune went close over course and distance on his stable debut in October, before things didn’t go his way at Wolverhampton, and he’s second choice. Magicinthemaking, Dors Toyboy and Mr Moneypenny arrive on the back of good runs.

19:45 Coolagh Magic

There was an excuse for COOLAGH MAGIC at Wolverhampton, so he might be worth another chance to show he’s still on a workable mark for new trainer Robyn Brisland. Starter For Ten (second choice) definitely has it in him to go close at this level, while Hollie Doyle has a good record for the Phil McEntee stable in 2021 and her booking for Porfin suggests that he could go well on his first start for the yard.
