A trappy sprint, so it could be worth siding with the unexposed KHATWAH to make a winning start for Mick Appleby now she goes into handicaps after a break. Not Now Zeb is another who could easily take a step forward for his new yard and he rates second best ahead of in-form duo Ubahha and Show Me A Sunset.
Lucky Man made his breakthrough at Newcastle last month and should give another good account. His form ties in closely with Jazzy Princess and Firebomb, both of whom also need consideration. It might be worth taking a chance on JUST ANOTHER though, with his Nottingham run in September quite promising and soft ground a valid excuse last time.
Stroxx has had a few chances, but he has to come right into the reckoning after a promising effort at Newcastle on Saturday. Mrs Bagerran wasn’t far behind him there and she could yet rate higher, while The Tron and Country Charm also have something to recommend them.
ADMIRABLE LAD wasn’t at his best at Wolverhampton three weeks ago, but that was after a 10-week break and he had created a positive impression when dropped to 5 furlongs on his previous start. He could resume his progress and defy top weight.
Red Allure and Gorgeous General come here on the back of good efforts at Newcastle and are high on the list, while several others have claims if anywhere near their recent best. Topweight ELEKTRONIC failed to progress after showing plenty of early promise for Richard Hughes, but he’s a free-going sort who has had few chances at 5 furlongs and he could be just the type with whom Mick Appleby excels.
It’s hard to see beyond CARAUSIUS who ran out a ready winner over course and distance last week and looks well up to defying a 5lbs penalty. Captain Haddock is a reliable sort and is next on the list ahead of the returning Deluxe Music, who still has the potential for further progress.
Plenty are in with a shout. Vertice has really found her form again of late and holds solid claims, while in-form duo Le Bayou and Fleursals figure high on the shortlist too. But, MAHARASHTRA really caught the eye when a running-on sixth at Chelmsford and, with few miles still on the clock, he can go in here off the same mark.

Both Unfinishedsympathy and Little Prayer should welcome this ease in grade, but the pair to appeal more are Skittlebombz and POET. The former went desperately close at Newcastle on Saturday and is 2lbs well in, but Poet picked up well in the closing stages when winning at Kempton and a 3lbs rise isn’t excessive.
Invincible Larne isn’t favoured by the weights under his penalty, but he won well on his stable debut on Saturday and should give another bold showing. Politics is still capable of better, however the old man of the field LOUIE DE PALMA (NAP) ended the turf season in good form and may be able to concede the weight all round.
