12:30 – Aucunrisque

Chris Gordon won the last two editions of this race with very useful horses and his AUCUNRISQUE, who was placed in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham last month, is selected to make a successful hurdle debut. Any Givin Sunday created a good impression at Huntingdon last month and is second choice but Sonning and Stream Of Stars also come here after last-time-out wins and warrant consideration too.

13:00 – For Pleasure

Nassalam is unbeaten over fences but the 10lb penalty he shoulders for last month’s Grade 2 win might leave him vulnerable to zippy front-runner FOR PLEASURE (nap), who has also taken well to chasing this autumn and ought to be very well suited by this tight track. Kid Commando is no slouch, though, and also has a significant role to play in a very interesting novice chase.

13:30 – Sandy Brook

He was arguably a shade disappointing when upped to 2m4f for his seasonal debut in October but SANDY BROOK may have needed that outing and has a good chance here if somewhere near the form he showed when going close at Fontwell in March. Pumpkin’s Pride took a big step forward from his disappointing bumper debut when sixth on his hurdling debut and is next on the list, ahead of Whistleinthedark and The Trampolinist.

14:00 – Go Whatever

Ex-pointer Dr Kananga ran well in defeat on last month’s handicap chase debut and remains very lightly raced under rules but GO WHATEVER has dropped to a very tempting mark and might be worth chancing. Chris Gordon’s 7yo disappointed on his seasonal debut in October but could outclass this field if the first-time cheekpieces have the desired effect. Triple C&D winner I See You Well and Hard To Forget are others to consider.

14:30 – Lusitanien

Hey Bob and Karakoram will probably be on the premises but both find winning difficult and one with much more potential is LUSITANIEN, who travelled strongly for a long way on last month’s seasonal/handicap debut at Chepstow and gets the nod here in the hope he comes on for the run. Jembug Drummer made a promising stable debut in October and is second choice but C&D winner Global Wonder will be dangerous if on a going day.

15:00 – Guguss Collonges

Gary Moore’s GUGUSS COLLONGES ran a promising first race over fences and especially as 2m was probably on the tight side. Dont Be Robin was raised a fair 7lb for his clearcut win here last time and he’s feared most along with En Coeur.

15:30 – Hey Frankie

This might go to HEY FRANKIE, who ran well in defeat on her debut at Taunton in October. Peerless Beauty has also shown significant ability and is second choice but newcomers Fairy Gem, Mousetrap and Milly’s Daughter all make appeal on paper.
