12:15 Thunder Rock
The two previous hurdle winners stand out and THUNDER ROCK, who beat a solid yardstick at Wetherby, is preferred to Hereford winner A Distant Place. Garde Des Champs is the obvious one to be best of the rest on his first run for Keith Dalgleish, but Lord Roco and Songofthelark also have each-way possibilities.
HELLO FROM PADDY POWER NEWS!
12:45 Collingham
Useful Flat performer Skycutter had plenty in hand on his recent hurdle debut at Wetherby and, having jumped to the right, today’s switch to a right-handed track is in his favour. However, preference is for COLLINGHAM, who looked more straightforward when winning over course and distance last month, and the in-form Donald McCain has won two of the last three runnings.
13:15 First Impression
The useful Flat horse FIRST IMPRESSION posted a stylish success at Wetherby last month and he can defy a 7lbs rise and follow up. Minella Plus makes his handicap debut on the back of two comfortable novice hurdle wins and he is second choice.

13:45 Elixer
Gun Merchant arrives on the back of a win at Newcastle and has obvious claims, with good recent form being scarce among his rivals. However, that was a weak four-runner race and a chance is taken on the maiden ELIXER, who has been in fair form at Sedgefield and may appreciate today’s return to a right-handed track. The two Rose Dobbin chasing newcomers, Permission Granted and Shanbally Rose, could also go well.
14:15 Wakool
Nick Alexander has a progressive five-year-old on his hands in WAKOOL, who can make it three wins from his last four starts. The first-time cheekpieces might eke out something extra from the in-form Bootlegger and he’s feared most, ahead of the well-handicapped Kaizer who is going back up in trip.

14:45 Upandatit
The lightly raced six-year-old UPANDATIT (NAP) was sent straight over fences for his handicap debut and displayed improved form when keeping on for a good third over 2m 4f at Ayr. Today’s step up in trip looks the right move and this should be a good opportunity.
Raecius Felix arrives in good form, but is unproven at the trip and perhaps the chief threat will come from Magna Sam – who made an encouraging stable debut for Sophie Leech last time.
15:15 Universal Folly
An interesting race in which the vote goes to UNIVERSAL FOLLY, who stayed on strongly when recording his breakthrough win over 2m 1f at Carlisle in October and is a major player again back over this stiffer stamina test.
Diamond State got off the mark with an easy win here on his return last month and is a big danger if he copes with his step back up in trip. The unexposed hurdler Brayhill is respected off what looks a fair mark on his handicap debut, while others to consider are Finisk River and Sarvi.
