16:00 – Semser

Tio Mio won with a bit to spare here 23 days ago and can go well but this will demand more. My Target and West Side Glory both have something to recommend them but this might be the day that SEMSER returns to form. He is thrown in on last season’s form and the return to a longer trip, drop in class and fitting of headgear all point to a potential revival today.

16:30 – Peripeteia

Typewritten is a newcomer of note in a race lacking depth. Restricted Area has a bit to prove given his absence and the new surface but he’s still more appealing than most. PERIPETEIA won’t be found a better chance to confirm her debut promise though and she can get off the mark at the fourth time of asking.

17:00 – Darwell Lion

Tricolore may do better yet but a tactical affair over this trip wouldn’t be sure to suit. Enfranchise still has untapped potential and needs serious consideration but DARWELL LION hasn’t got many miles on the clock and he could be the answer on his first outing for David O’Meara.

17:30 – Madame Glitters

Arctician’s 2yo form is head and shoulders above anything his rivals have achieved but he hasn’t matched it in two runs this year and he has been sold out of Paddy Twomey’s stable since his latest effort. He should go well, while Bibulous also has claims despite the fact he is penalised for winning a weak race at Kempton last month. MADAME GLITTERS may not match the exploits of her globetrotting half-brother Lord Glitters but her debut effort wasn’t without promise and she might be worth chancing at the likely odds with improvement expected.

18:00 – Lough Cutra

Sir Oliver has had a fine year for Chris Dwyer and needs serious consideration back on the AW. If You Dare still has time to do better, comments that also apply to Alablaq, but LOUGH CUTRA shaped nicely on his first run for Michael Wigham and can take a step forward with that behind him.

18:30 – Elhafei

Reset Button can go well at the foot of the weights, while solid efforts from Beat The Breeze, Victory Star, Percy Willis, Gold Standard and Baileys Warrior should all be forthcoming. ELHAFEI (nap) was flourishing on turf when last seen though and he can take full advantage of his much lower AW mark on his return from a summer break.

19:00 – Cherish

Several have possibilities but the vote goes to Tony Carroll’s major improver CHERISH, who has won six of her last eight starts and still looks feasibly treated off 6lb higher than for her success in a big field at Bath last time. Hat-trick seeker Glamorous Force is feared most, though Good Earth was a good second here on his recent stable debut and looks interesting on this drop back in trip. Others on the shortlist are the returning Liamba and the selection’s stablemate Trusty Rusty.
