11:38 – Grange Road
Ask Me Early just got the better of GRANGE ROAD in a driving finish at Exeter last month but Paul Nicholls’ 6yo is 6lb better off here and, after only two starts under rules, he probably has more potential. That pair will probably fight this out but it would be reckless to rule out useful hunter chaser The Galloping Bear on his hurdling debut.

12:12 – Shaman Du Berlais
Some very interesting and unexposed chasers line up, not least SHAMAN DU BERLAIS who impressed on his chase debut at Stratford and looks to have a bright future over fences. Duc De Beauchene got the message on his third chase attempt and looks the main danger on a track that suits as Keep Wondering, another to make a big impression when switched to fences, has been off a long time and soft ground may be important to him. Brave Seasca was nursed home when his chance had gone on his chase debut here but is another with more to come this winter.
12:47 – Take Your Time
A few have chances but none is more solid than TAKE YOUR TIME (nap) who could have been hit with more than 6lb for his Ffos Las win. The old boy Dell’ Arca has a big run in him and so too the well-treated Beau Bay, while What About Time and Wildfire Warrior are darker ones to consider seriously.
13:22 – Ami Desbois
St Barts and Eclair Surf did well as first-season chasers last term and still have potential but they would appeal more on slower ground. Colorado Doc and Run To Milan will be well suited by the forecast good ground here and arrive after very creditable performances this autumn but the suggestion is the oldest runner in the line-up, AMI DESBOIS, who hasn’t won for a while but makes his seasonal debut from a good mark. Oliver Sherwood’s new recruit Springtown Lake is also on a good mark for his seasonal debut and is feared most.

13:57 – Gericault Roque
David Pipe’s GERICAULT ROQUE had to settle for third when favourite for his seasonal/chase debut at Wetherby in October but significant positives can be drawn from that performance and he gets the nod here in the hope today’s step up in trip unlocks some improvement. Broken Halo didn’t hang about over hurdles and looks interesting on his chasing debut. Faustinovick usually finishes weakly and is proving a very difficult horse to win with but he scores good marks for last season’s consistency and is considered each-way.
14:32 – Ree Okka
It’s hard to see past REE OKKA with his Aintree form having worked out so well, although The Plimsoll Line has also been mixing it with good horses and he’s entitled to make it interesting. Complete Unknown may also have some say and others to monitor include Last Royal and the newcomer T’Araison, the respective brothers of Honeysuckle and Al Boum Photo.
15:09 – Serious Charges
Hereford winner Libberty Hunter sets a good standard of rules form and ought to go well under his penalty, while David Pipe’s newcomer Pachacuti makes significant appeal on paper. However, the most interesting runner is SERIOUS CHARGES, who made a very promising Irish point debut in the spring and has subsequently joined a stable with an excellent record in bumpers.

15:45 – Deere Mark
Hatos has seen the form of his Irish point second franked this week and he looks the pick of Anthony Honeyball’s three runners, but DEERE MARK is preferred. He probably chased home a good horse here in October and was the only one to offer him any sort of challenge. Bertie Blue heads some notable newcomers.
