Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of the four best performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets…
In a novice hurdle with significant depth the suggestion is four-time Irish point winner HIGH STAKES, who ran his rivals ragged from the front in a Wexford bumper in March and looks a very interesting recruit for Warren Greatrex. Famous Bridge made a good start to his hurdling career last month and may provide the main threat. Corrigeen Rock and Cosmic Outlaw are just some of the others with possibilities.
There’s no denying that ALJARYAAL had the run of things when making a successful stable debut here three weeks ago but he’s only up 3lb and this well-bred gelding is entitled to progress. True Romance never really had a prayer of getting involved in that same race but, granted a truer pace this time, he could well be the danger. This Ones For Fred is another for the shortlist.
Blazer Two did not appear to have a problem with this new trip when runner-up at Wolverhampton recently but SCARBOROUGH CASTLE has been going great guns for his new yard and his 1m3f run here in June suggests that he should stay this far. Schwartz could be very interesting on his handicap debut, though, as two of his useful siblings had winning form at this trip and 2m here, so the big step up in distance could see a very different performance from him.
John Ryan’s tough filly Goddess Of Fire should make another bold bid, while Ralph Beckett’s C&D winner Pomelo still has potential and could resume her progress back at this track after another break. However, the one that appeals most is SERENADING, who has a record of 3-5 on Tapeta and found more improvement with her close fourth in a competitive race at Newcastle 24 days ago.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?
13:40 Ayr – High Stakes (East Anglian Daily Times)
In a novice hurdle with significant depth the suggestion is four-time Irish point winner HIGH STAKES, who ran his rivals ragged from the front in a Wexford bumper in March and looks a very interesting recruit for Warren Greatrex. Famous Bridge made a good start to his hurdling career last month and may provide the main threat. Corrigeen Rock and Cosmic Outlaw are just some of the others with possibilities.
16:00 Wolverhampton – Aljaryaal (Scottish Sun)
There’s no denying that ALJARYAAL had the run of things when making a successful stable debut here three weeks ago but he’s only up 3lb and this well-bred gelding is entitled to progress. True Romance never really had a prayer of getting involved in that same race but, granted a truer pace this time, he could well be the danger. This Ones For Fred is another for the shortlist.
16:10 Kempton – Scarborough Castle (Daily Mirror)
Blazer Two did not appear to have a problem with this new trip when runner-up at Wolverhampton recently but SCARBOROUGH CASTLE has been going great guns for his new yard and his 1m3f run here in June suggests that he should stay this far. Schwartz could be very interesting on his handicap debut, though, as two of his useful siblings had winning form at this trip and 2m here, so the big step up in distance could see a very different performance from him.
18:00 Wolverhampton – Serenading (Wolverhampton Express & Star)
John Ryan’s tough filly Goddess Of Fire should make another bold bid, while Ralph Beckett’s C&D winner Pomelo still has potential and could resume her progress back at this track after another break. However, the one that appeals most is SERENADING, who has a record of 3-5 on Tapeta and found more improvement with her close fourth in a competitive race at Newcastle 24 days ago.
