11:40 – Owen Little
OWEN LITTLE showed improved form to get off the mark at Kempton last time, staying on well to get the verdict by a head close home. He looks a stayer to keep on the right side at this level and a 3 lb rise in the weights is unlikely to be enough to stop him in his follow-up bid.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
12:10 – Brazen Akoya
BRAZEN AKOYA made it three wins from her last four starts with a determined performance at Newcastle three weeks ago, always looking in control despite winning by a small margin. This will be her first start on polytrack, but she is clearly going the right way and another bold bid is expected with George Rooke claiming 3 lb.
12:40 – Yonafis
YONAFIS is a newcomer who looks to have plenty going for him in this maiden. His rivals with previous experience set only a fair standard in this line-up and his attractive pedigree suggests he could potentially be useful for the in-form William Haggas yard (78% of horses running to form).
13:10 – Kaasirr
KAASIRR showed a really likeable attitude when second at Kempton earlier this month, leaving his debut form behind to make the favourite pull out all the stops. He was beaten just a head at the line and that form is easily the best on offer in this line-up. With further improvement on the cards, he rates a confident selection to open his account at the third attempt.
13:45 – Rovaniemi
ROVANIEMI returned to form when third on his first outing for Ed Walker (formerly trained by David Simcock) at Kempton three weeks ago, doing his best work at the finish after briefly meeting trouble. He was beaten just a length and could be ready to take advantage of a significant drop in the weights if building on that effort.
14:15 – Sky Power
SKY POWER possibly wasn’t seen to best effect when forced to make the running at Kempton last time, ultimately passing the post over four lengths behind the winner. That form is working out well (the winner followed up on his next start) and he is well worth another chance to prove himself on a good mark.
14:45 – Cafe Sydney
CAFE SYDNEY shaped as if back in top form when fourth on her most recent appearance at Wolverhampton, sticking to her task well from a poor position to be beaten only three and a quarter lengths. She is 1 lb lower in the weights here and looks to have plenty in her favour back at a venue where she completed a hat-trick last winter.
15:15 – Laurentia
LAURENTIA could be the way to go in a wide-open finale. She has knocked on the door on her last couple of starts at Chelmsford and it was around this time last year that she was successful from an 11 lb higher at this course.
