I’m surprised that Ginto and Hollow Games have both declared for Gordon Elliott. Hollow Games is arguably the slightly more exciting of the pair and you can see why Davy Russell would pick him over Ginto. If they both run, I’d side with Hollow Games but I’m not sold that they’ll both run.
Mister Fogpatches is only 2-27 in his career but he improved in staying handicap chases last season, finishing third in the Scottish National off 129 and winning at the Punchestown festival over 3m7f off a mark of 128 (that was on good ground also). He was not beaten far in fourth at Listowel over 2m6f in September and was third in the Cork National off 134, albeit beaten 22l. He did win a handicap hurdle on this card two years ago and he should be a live each-way player in the Troytown Chase where Paddy is paying extra places.
Mister Fogpatches really doesn’t win very often but is usually fancied in these big competitive handicaps. Good ground will be key and it’s unusual for this race to be run on good.
