A cracking contest to start with. Stratum is a fascinating recruit to chasing while The Bosses Oscar should continue his progress. High class staying hurdler BEACON EDGE made a perfectly satisfactory start to his chasing career over a trip short of his best at Down Royal last month and will take the beating.
The consistent Siberian Star looks sure to run his race while the relatively unexposed Sean Says makes plenty of appeal. This could go to WELL JOEY, 2lb lower than his last winning mark with some of his more recent form pointing to him still having a race like this in him.
Having run away with a C&D maiden on return two weeks ago, IDAS BOY should be even sharper today and can follow up. Mr Josiey Wales was third in a Cork Listed novice last time and looks to be his main danger.
Not a huge amount of depth to this race. Humble Glory has been unlucky but has to prove she stays. Downtown Queen looks potentially progressive, but despite a disappointing effort at Tramore, BROOMFIELD HALL (nap) gets another chance. Her Listowel second to Party Central could be good enough here.
Noted running on late when making her handicap debut at Punchestown last time, KILKENNY STAR should have more to come and looks sure to get involved. Gali Flight, Nell’s Well, Purdey’s Gift and She’s Commanche look like her biggest dangers.
Having bolted in at Limerick two days ago, it is difficult to oppose LAKE CHAD with a 5lb penalty if turning up here. Fellow recent winners Ellaat and Fassbender also have to be respected, while The Declaimer and Master Cornwall are others with a chance.
Though his yard has gone a bit quiet lately, GAELIC ARC can improve enough from his Sligo third behind a smart type to beat his main rival, recent C&D runner-up Keepthefaithinme. Getaway Charlie wasn’t disgraced in a stronger bumper than this on debut but lacks a recent run.
