13:00 Credo

This doesn’t look the strongest race of its type and is a perfect opportunity for dual-bumper winner CREDO to open her account over hurdles. She looked a good prospect when bolting up by 20 lengths on her Rules debut at Plumpton last season and followed up in good style under a penalty at Fontwell in May.

Credo showed clear promise on her return when third on hurdling debut at Uttoxeter recently, just outpaced at the business end of the race, so this longer trip seems sure to suit this point winner and she could prove hard to beat with improvement forthcoming. Get A Tonic finished ahead of the selection that day and can proved the biggest threat.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

13:30 Robinshill

This looks an open handicap hurdle, but it could pay to side with ROBINSHILL, who made a winning reappearance at Ludlow last season. He isn’t getting any younger, but he has a positive record when fresh, and returns to action from a competitive mark.

Nigel Twiston-Davies is among the winners and he looks the percentage call, ahead of Welland, who has been lightly raced since opening his account at Fakenham in 2019.

14:00 Monarchofthegrange

This is a very weak event and a perfect opportunity for MONARCHOFTHEGRANGE to open his account. He has some fairly useful form to call upon, and produced a career-best effort when finishing third in a handicap at Newbury on his first start for seven months 11 days ago.

That is easily the best form on offer, and he should have no problem getting his head in front at this level. Saghir has made a low-key start for this yard, but is a potential danger at this level.

14:30 Zabeel Champion

This looks a potential match between hurdling-debutants ZABEEL CHAMPION and Lydford, with preference for the former. He had some smart form on the Flat for Mark Johnston, and new connections went to 185,000 guineas to secure his services in September. A strong, good-bodied sort, he looks just the type to take to hurdling and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the market.

15:00 Macha

David Pipe seemingly holds the key to this with a couple of interesting French recruits in MACHA and Kalzari. The former is making her debut over hurdles, but had some fairly useful form on the Flat for Jean-Claude Rouget. She won’t need to be anything out of the ordinary to make a winning start in this sphere. Jockey bookings point to her being the first string, but the market will likely reveal more.

15:30 Motion In Limine

MOTION IN LIMINE is another new recruit for the shrewd Dr Richard Newland who has shown improved form since joining the yard and just about looks the pick in this line-up. He confirmed the promise of his stable debut when finishing runner-up to a handicap blot at Wetherby last time, and that form was boosted by the winner at Cheltenham on Saturday.

This mark shouldn’t be beyond him and he can gain a first victory on these shores. Barricane showed a good attitude to get off the mark at Uttoxeter back in May, so he’s feared most on return.
