Plenty of runners, but very few make any appeal in a very weak race. Bugs Moran showed ability in a Galway bumper and should take beating. Hurdles newcomer Dutch Schultz and the de Bromhead runner Itwasfate make appeal. Without much conviction though, the selection is MYTHICAL HERO, who went close in a Punchestown bumper on debut in March and will be well schooled for this hurdles debut.

12:20 Minella Cocooner
The form of MINELLA COCOONER‘s bumper win isn’t anything special, but he won with plenty in hand and he could be hard to beat if he improves again on debut over hurdles. Hamundarson is probably the main danger if fully tuned up on seasonal reappearance. It will be interesting to see what the market makes of Largy Debut on return from 20 months off.
12:50 Better Than Heaven
The progressive BETTER THAN HEAVEN could be the one to side with having taken a step forward since handicapping, and he gives the impression a drop to 2m won’t be an issue. A 2lbs rise shouldn’t stop Capture The Action getting involved again and Choir Practice probably found the ground too testing for her last time.
13:20 Dads Lad
A competitive race with the likes of Crassus and Takarengo coming back to hurdles after being effective on the Flat. Dreamsrmadeofthis is a potentially fascinating handicap debutante, but the one to beat looks like DADS LAD (NAP) who has been generally progressive and won comfortably at Sligo last time. The drop back to 2m could well suit him.
13:55 Magic Daze
Graded hurdle winners Darrens Hope and Sayce Gold are likely to do well over fences, but need a longer trip. This should be a race for Cheltenham runner-up MAGIC DAZE to score over fences after probably just needing her first start at Galway last month.
14:30 Arahecan
Henry de Bromhead has a strong hand in this one. ARAHECAN is the preferred option after a promising return and he gave the impression he would come on for that run. Stablemate Espon Du Houx could be a threat if fully tuned up on return and Everlastingpromise looks feasibly treated on the form of his penultimate start.
15:05 Valentina Lady
A winnable race. Even Flight ran a cracker at Wexford after nearly 20 months off and the stable had a winner this week. Mount Melleray did well in two chase starts in the spring and has a clear chance if he can jump straight. The class act of the race though might just be VALENTINA LADY and, with her Roscommon experience behind her, she might just be good enough.
