Preference is for FRANSHAM, who has an excellent record over hurdles at this track and is well handicapped back here for this second attempt over fences. Second choice is Cornerstone Lad, who was successful on this card in 2019. Fast Buck has more letters than numbers in his chase form figures but he has the ability to play a big role. Magic Dancer is in decent form but seems vulnerable from 8lb out of the handicap.
13:25 Earlofthecostwolds
Solo Saxophone has not raced over hurdles since July 2019 and Floki has to overcome a long absence but they are very appealing in other respects. An interesting alternative is EARLOFTHECOTSWOLDS, who has a perfectly good chance off his current mark.
14:00 Palmers Hill
The Jonjo O’Neill-trained PALMERS HILL, who ran respectably in the Coral Cup when last seen, is a tempting proposition off a handy mark on only his second chase start. He looks well worth another crack at this discipline. Second choice is Cracking Destiny, who ran well in a higher grade here 15 days ago. Northern Bound steps back up in class but he’s on a roll and has to be taken very seriously.
14:35 Sauce Of Life
Having been 2-2 in bumpers last season, SAUCE OF LIFE looks a good hurdling prospect. Second choice is Rory And Me, who ran well over C&D when last seen. Lakota Warrior is open to improvement back down in trip and Largy Reach is still very unexposed. The Dancing Poet is 1-1 over hurdles but this looks a tougher task conceding 5lb to his rivals.

Two obvious players are Saint Arvans and Champagne City, who finished first and second in a similar event over C&D 15 days ago. However, they may have to settle for minor honours behind FIRST IMPRESSION (nap), who is still unexposed over hurdles and returns to this sphere off a handy mark judged on his Flat form. Market support for Benny’s Bridge should be heeded.
15:45 Frau Georgia
The most appealing contenders are the mares FRAU GEORGIA and Grand Turina in that order of preference. Frau Georgia is in top form and open to further improvement, while Grand Turina is on a handy mark and returns to the scene of her bumper win. Muckamore is a possible fly in the ointment, granted a revival.
