11:40 Three Start

Udaberri and Ephrata have shown enough to be contenders in a race like this, however they have questions to answer after their latest efforts and there are some potential improvers up against them. Golden Disc and Untold Mystery are two, but THREE START looks the most solid option having improved to finish runner-up at Redcar last time. He is a brother to a Polytrack winner and ought to handle the surface.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

12:10 Park Street

This looks less competitive than the first division with fewer potential improvers. A market move for either of the Godolphin newcomers Game Master or Independent Act should be noted, but PARK STREET is given another chance.

He was disappointing at Kempton last time, but has been gelded since and his earlier turf efforts give him strong claims in this company. Zestful should appreciate this stiffer test and ought to go well.

12:45 Catch My Breath

Voltaic, Delicate Kiss (second on the list) and Villeurbanne have something to recommend them, but this could be run at a solid pace and that could play into the hands of CATCH MY BREATH (NAP). He has had excuses since his easy course and distance success in September and is still lurking on a very feasible mark.

13:20 Invincibly

Young Fire is capable of playing a part if getting a good pace to aim at, while Corazon Espinado and One Small Step are others to consider. However, the last two runnings of this race have gone to a three-year-old and INVINCIBLY can continue the trend by completing his hat-trick. He has improved since undergoing wind surgery and may still have more to offer.

13:55 Desert Lime

Another chance is given to DESERT LIME, who was unable to justify odds-on favouritism after racing too freely over 7 furlongs on her recent stable debut, but drops in trip here and still has the potential to build upon last year’s promising debut in Ireland. The other filly It’s Wonderful posted an improved performance on her latest outing and looks the main danger.

14:30 Hannalite

Having kept on well for a close third over 1m 6f at Chelmsford recently, HANNALITE is taken to get off the mark on this first attempt at 2m. Smith has been in good form of late and is feared most having gone very close at Kempton most recently.

15:05 Good Effort

The Last Lion is a fascinating contender on his return to racing, but he can’t be assessed with any sort of confidence. Misty Grey still has potential as an all-weather sprinter, however the pair to appeal most are Exalted Angel and GOOD EFFORT.

Preference is for Ismail Mohammed’s six-year-old, who boasts an unbeaten record at this track and who has looked as good as ever on all-weather this year. Don’t read too much into his latest run in America where he was on the back foot from an early stage having been messed around in the first 100 yards.

15:40 Felix

Pyledriver is the class act in the field but his absence since his Coronation Cup success is off-putting, all the more so given a sharp 1m 2f isn’t sure to see him to best effect. Last year’s winner Dubai Warrior has a bit to prove and this could rest between Harrovian and FELIX. The latter had some smart form on all-weather earlier in the year and this is likely to have been the plan for a while.
