It’s day 3 of this fantastic bonanza of racing at the Cheltenham November Meeting and we’ve got some pretty competitive events with the highlight being the Greatwood Hurdle. Here’s my best for Cheltenham on Sunday.
13:10 Cheltenham – Oscar Elite
I am going to take a punt on Oscar Elite. I went to the Tizzard’s stable last year and loved this fella. He will be even better when he gets some decent soft ground. He’s smart and, with the stable in form, he gets the vote.

13:45 Cheltenham – Yala Enki
Yala Enki was beaten a short head in this race last year so you know he handles the track. Okay, he may prefer softer ground, but he has got form on the surface and you know Paul Nicholls is going to have him fit for this run. Empire de Maulde is the mount of former champion jockey Brian Hughes and merits respect but I am sticking with Bryony Frost on Yala Enki.
14:20 Cheltenham – Put The Kettle On
Put The Kettle On is 3-3 at this track including the Arkle Chase and a Queen Mother Champion Chase win. She has to be respected as this has been her target for some time.
14:55 Cheltenham – Jesse Evans, Cormier (E/W)
Jesse Evans won a maiden at Navan on the Flat recently so is in form. Noel Meade trained the winner of the Fred Winter at the festival this year and he knows plenty about what’s required to get the job done.
Cormier is another who has excelled on the Flat, being placed in big handicaps at Sandown plus winning at York in July. He warmed up with a good fourth in the Welsh Champion Hurdle and I think, at the price, he makes a lot of sense as a really good each way play. Cormier ran well in this race last year so has good experience of the track. He races off a lower mark this year with the ground more in his favour.

15:30 Cheltenham – Washington
I am taking a punt on this inexperienced runner who is having only his second run over obstacles. Washington, who is the son of Westerner, looked a horse to follow when winning at Bangor and I think he’s an exciting youngster.
16:00 Cheltenham – Aucunrisque
Aucunrisque is value against the favourite. A good 4th last time, he got dragged across the track and should have finished 3rd so he can be marked up.
