I’m going for the relatively unexposed Skatman but this race is pretty open. Skatman won at Newton Abbot on his last start and I feel the handicapper could have a hold of An Tailliur. Lorcan Williams is on board Skatman for Paul Nicholls but it’s a tentative guess.
I fancy Editeur Du Gite, who’s trained by Gary Moore. He beat Sully D’Oc at Aintree in April and looked impressive. He tipped up on his first start of this season at Ascot in October but that run will have brought him forward. Niall Houlihan is on board and he takes 5lbs off. Editeur Du Gite could still be on the rise so he’s worth looking at.
The small field will only help My Drogo. Looking at it earlier in the week, I had some doubts. However, now there’s less runners, I have confidence in Harry Skelton on board My Drogo. He’ll look to get out early and keep the lead. My Drogo could be a future Grade 1 winner so he’ll do me!

Balko Des Flos has run around here before where he unseated at the Festival and has had a run this season but I like Irish National winner Freewheelin Dylan for Dermot McLoughlin. He ran reasonably well at Kilbeggan but I love what he did at Aintree. He has a lovely jumping style, he gallops and he’s a strong stayer. He’s a big price and a solid each-way punt.
Gelino Bello won well at Aintree in October but I like Blazing Khal. I was working the day he beat Gringo D’aubrelle at Galway and I was impressed with what I saw. Gringo D’aubrelle has since gone to Navan and bolted in the bumper. There’s a lot to like about Blazing Khal and the slight step up in trip won’t inconvenience him. He has the potential to be a great horse.
