12:45 More Than A Memory

Gordon Elliott’s Where It All Began has race fitness on his side, but is not certain to cope with MORE THAN A MEMORY. He was beaten by a promising Willie Mullins inmate in a bumper at this venue last season and now a recruit to a top stable.

13:20 Broomfields Jeremy

Course and distance winner BROOMFIELDS JEREMY should have improved nicely from his seasonal debut and returning to this track on softer ground can see him notch another win. Pour Pavore is one pound out of the handicap, but is progressive and can go well, along with Future Proof.

13:55 Mount Ida

Though MOUNT IDA was a bit below form on her final run last season, she has won off a break before and can begin this season with another score. She can jump to her right, so this track will suit. She has most to fear from old rival Scarlet And Dove.

14:25 Fakir D’oudairies

Willie Mullins has won this in six of the last eight seasons and supplies two of the quartet this time. In a tight-knit affair no finishing-order permutation would surprise, but FAKIR D’OUDAIRIES is a Grade 1 winner who can show good form when fresh and is suited by the trip and ground conditions. Hardline may emerge best of the trio who clashed at Gowran last time.

14:55 Mezyan

Veteran mare Crack On Corrie showed that she is good form with a recent win over hurdles and is relatively unexposed over fences. There could be more improvement to come from Captain Jimmy, raised 10lbs for his win over a longer trip at Galway.

However, it could pay to have a more speculative bet on MEZYAN in the hope that he can jump more fluently than when fourth on his handicap debut at Thurles.

15:25 Bold Getaway

The form of the Leopardstown maiden hurdle last year in which BOLD GETAWAY (NAP) was fourth is strong and a repeat of that should suffice back in a bumper. Youralwaysdreamin and Diamondinthemud look next best, though Harald Hardrad is interesting.
