16:30 Fearless Bay
Jacks Profit showed clear promise when staying on well over 1m in the mud two months ago on his nursery debut. Slight preference is for FEARLESS BAY though, who may well be ready for a marked step forward after giving encouragement in two of his three starts at Newmarket. Third on the list is Brighton scorer Dashing To You.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
17:00 Midgetonamission
There has been no success, along with no shortage of races, for MIDGETONAMISSION and Petal Power. However, they have taken minor honours in nurseries and top the list in what looks a weak contest today, ahead of Eight Of Diamonds.
17:30 Gin O’Clock
A big field, but it’s hard to work up much enthusiasm for the majority. GIN O’CLOCK stands out among those with experience and has a first-rate chance of going one better than at York on his debut. The market should be monitored for confidence in one of the four newcomers, but the sternest resistance may come from Lila Girl, of whom more was expected at Newmarket.
18:00 Lone Fighter
Nizaaka sets the standard on form, but she is not certain to maintain her recent Redcar superiority over Saleymm, who gave the impression she needed the run that day. The well-bred LONE FIGHTER has further improvement to make if he’s to defy a penalty, but he’s going the right way and may do just that. Dundalk barrier-trial winner Old Port is a fascinating contender, and market support for him would be highly significant.
18:30 Napper Tandy
Four left a very positive impression when winning last time out. NAPPER TANDY is the only one whose win wasn’t in the last two months. However, he could have the most potential, as he’s so lightly raced and steps up in trip. Bascule is on a roll now and he is feared most, with last week’s 1m 6f winner Liverpool Knight preferred to Ace Rothstein given his proven stamina.
19:00 I Am A Dreamer
Robert Cowell holds a strong hand with the last-time-out winners Cooperation (making stable debut) and Araifjan, but the latter had only a neck to spare over I AM A DREAMER here last time and Charlie Wallis’s five-year-old may exact his revenge today. The unexposed Durdle Door, representing the in-form Gary Moore stable, is feared at the foot of the weights.
19:30 Endured
His bold show over course and distance four weeks ago, on his first run this season, suggests that ENDURED (NAP) can start making up for lost time with a win today. Lafan looks solid among the others, but the late gains made by Dutch Decoy over 7 furlongs here last time suggest that he may be a more potent threat. Diffident Spirit also caught the eye when he ran on well from the rear on turf on his latest outing.
20:00 Clipsham Tiger
This doesn’t look as competitive as the numbers may suggest. Kodimoor, Laurentia and Disarming are possible, but CLIPSHAM TIGER ran well at Newcastle last week and he can gain his second course and distance success. At bigger prices there could be improved displays tonight from Swiss Rowe and Jeremiah Johnson.
