On the back of a solid effort behind a thriving rival here last month, STROMBOLI could well go one better and open his account. Second choice is Hot Diggity Dog, who looks open to further progress on this surface. Interesting handicap debutant Westmorian is third choice. Rockprincess holds major claims if transferring last week’s Redcar form back to AW, while several others also can’t be dismissed in this competitive nursery.

15:00 – Vintage Polly

Gold Ring is better than he showed last time and could have a bigger run in him, while the talented-but-quirky Van Dijk is more than capable if on a good day. The C&D handicap in which VINTAGE POLLY narrowly prevailed three weeks ago could be the key formline though and Rebecca Menzies’ filly can confim those placings with Starbo and Big Dutchie.

15:30 – Serenading

Bringitonboris should give it his all but the most appealing pair are Zaajirah and SERENADING. The former, the sole 3yo representative in the field, should still have more improvement in her, certainly judged on the way she powered through the race at Kempton on her handicap debut, but this may be left to James Fanshawe’s mare. She has won on her last three visits here and last month’s C&D success was achieved with more authority than the narrow winning margin indicates.

16:00 – Burj Malinka

Having finished second in a similar event over C&D three weeks ago on his debut for Adrian Nicholls, BURJ MALINKA holds solid claims and may well go one better. However, the fly in the ointment could be Desert Lime who looks open to improvement and will be all the more interesting if the market speaks in her favour. Cover Name also enters the reckoning.

16:30 – Royal Advice

Dick Datchery could revive now dipping his toe into Class 6 company, while Eyes, Nibras Shadow and Blades Equal all have something to recommend them. ROYAL ADVICE has been quiet of late but his form here earlier in the year gives him a major shout if this drop in class works the oracle.

17:00 – Millionaire Waltz

Given that he looks capable of further improvement on Tapeta, MILLIONAIRE WALTZ is taken to complete a C&D hat-trick. Second choice is Listen Again, who ran creditably behind the selection last week. Sea Storm, Harvest Day and class-dropper Rum Runner are also in the mix.

17:30 – Captain Vallo

Preference is for CAPTAIN VALLO, who has been in good form in C&D events this autumn and looks open to further improvement on this surface. Unexposed River Tweed is second choice, ahead of Fortamour and Lezardrieux.

18:00 – Strong Power

Triple Jaye has obvious claims but an interesting alternative is STRONG POWER (nap), who did well to finish fourth at Wolverhampton last month having been hampered before halfway and come from a difficult position. The selection is well handicapped and has a good chance granted better luck. For Peat’s Sake and Tanasoq complete the shortlist.
