14:45 Convection
Becoming and Ha Long Bay are interesting on their first outing in nursery company, while Adatorio could benefit from a gelding operation since his last run. It may pay to give another chance to the class-dropping CONVECTION, who couldn’t cope with a big-field nursery at Newmarket last time but who had previously shaped well over course and distance.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
15:15 Kirilenko
Likely newcomers Zanbaq and Final Gesture, along with form pick Washraa, are parked out wide and the latter will have to settle better than she did over a furlong shorter here three weeks ago. KIRILENKO is the pick having really got the hang of things in the latter stages of her Newmarket debut 26 days ago.
15:45 Agreeability
Testing Faith has the strongest piece of form on offer and he should go well, but AGREEABILITY looks the part on paper and she is starting out in a race lacking depth. She may be able to make a winning debut.
16:15 Tropical Talent
Greenscape and Marcelo’s Way have leading claims having shaped well over 1m on Polytrack last month. Nicholas George is a well-related newcomer who needs a market check, but TROPICAL TALENT took a good step forward here last time and could have more progress in him now tackling 1m for the first time.
16:45 Mobadra
This can go to MOBADRA who commands respect on this year’s form at 1m and still has potential on her return to 7 furlongs. Street Kid gained his first win for this yard at Wolverhampton last month and is preferred to Sanaadh of the remainder.
17:15 Mighty Gurkha
None of these can be completely ruled out, but MIGHTY GURKHA (NAP) has an enviable record on all-weather and has been given a good chance by the assessor in his first handicap. Huraiz is on a lengthy losing run but there were real signs of life in a Chelmsford Class 2 last time, so he is nominated as the chief threat.
17:45 Vino Victrix
A lack of pace on paper and some of the older runners would be inconvenienced if that’s how it pans out. Three-year-old VINO VICTRIX isn’t one to give up on, despite his progress stalling of late, and he may get away with dropping back to 1m 4f if ridden more prominently. Settling better is a possibility too. This is much tougher than last time for Rumi, but there’s no telling how much more there is to come.
18:15 Julie Johnston
Recent persuasive form is sparse, with Diamonds At Dusk and Lucayan the only runners to have been placed on their latest start. Both can go well, but JULIE JOHNSTON wasn’t beaten far over 6 furlongs here three weeks ago and she looks worth another chance at 7 furlongs. Last year’s runner-up No Diggity is another to consider.
