The Salisbury maiden in which STORM CASTLE finished sixth on his debut has worked out well, and this first foal out of the stable’s Group 1 winner Journey could prove to be a different proposition today. He’s the selection ahead of Fourth Time Lucky, who stayed on for a close third over 6f here on his recent debut and promises to be suited by 7f. The William Haggas-trained Spirit Of Nguru is respected, along with Barneys Gift and Grand Libya.

Dream Show just about sets the standard on his second to a promising newcomer at Leicester but that was his third run and others might improve past him. Golden Voice was surrounded by subsequent winners at Newbury but with a four-month absence to overcome preference is for LIBERATED LIGHT. He ran a very nice first race here and both that experience and this longer trip should bring him on some more.
13:10 King of Tonga
This could be an excellent opportunity for the consistent KING OF TONGA to snap a lengthy losing sequence. Emraan, Sassoon and Desert History also line up on favourable terms but have been struggling for form, so perhaps Palazzo will provide a value option for the forecast.

13:40 Bronze River
Having won in a big field over C&D last month on his second stable start, BRONZE RIVER appeared unsuited by the steady pace at Newcastle subsequently and is taken to return to winning ways today. Outrun The Storm is second choice having done well to come from the back of the pack when fifth of 20 at York last time.
The consistent Zumurud is next on the list, ahead of in-form pair Legal Reform and Katyusha. Song Of The Isles struggled for form in the summer but her win in this race last year is one of five unbeaten runs when encountering soft or heavy ground, so she’s worth a second look if conditions are testing.
14:10 Dubai Souq
Barshaa should continue to progress and this trip can suit on pedigree but conditions will be very different to what she’s used to and preference is for DUBAI SOUQ who has these conditions for the first time since his impressive win at Nottingham last autumn. Howzer Black has had a great year but Spirit Dancer may be the one for the third spot.
14:40 All Things Bright
Ralphy Boy Two had to switch to the wide outside for a clear run before finishing well to take second behind ALL THINGS BRIGHT in a recent C&D seller but Tristan Davidson’s filly travelled strongly into that race and might well have found more if challenged. She can complete a quick double. Willa has been off since July but has conditions to suit and a good chance at the weights, so she may provide the main threat.
15:10 Tindrum
Bollin Neil has already enjoyed a productive season and he comes here after going close at Catterick 17 days ago but the third from that race TINDRUM might be the answer here. Heather Main’s 4yo did well to feature in the closing stages there, after overcoming adversity in the early part of the race, and benefits from Frederick Larson’s useful 7lb claim here. Cornerstone Lad and Lopes Dancer, both previous winners of this race, are others to consider.
15:40 Balqaa (NAP)
The lightly raced 3yo BALQAA (nap) stormed home for second in a big field over 7f here on last month’s handicap debut and can go one better now back up to 1m. Otto Oyl finished to good effect when sixth in the same race, and he’s feared most. There are several others to consider though with Al Erayg, Vocatus, Wots The Wifi Code, Kats Bob, Royal Prospect and Spartakos all arriving on the back of good runs. Vocatus is third choice.
