DANIEL DERONDA ran respectably when fourth in a C&D handicap 11 days ago and, with refitted cheekpieces fancied to put an extra edge on him, he could well be the answer in what rates a competitive handicap. Perfect Swiss, who finished 2 places in front of the selection, rates the main threat, ahead of class-dropping Old News and Omany Amber.

Build Me Up has more on her plate than when winning at Leicester six weeks ago but she’s still respected on her first run for a new yard. So Smart, Firebomb and Lucky Man can all feature but LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY looks a likely improver now making the switch to nurseries.

Copper Mountain was a big eyecatcher on last week’s nursery debut and she ought to appreciate returning to this trip, but MIDGETONAMISSION’s form has more substance and her latest effort can be marked up. Malorie and, in particular, Catatumbo should be monitored in the betting starting out in handicaps.
17:30 Zenzero (NAP)
Preference is for David O’Meara’s 3yo ZENZERO (nap), who made it 2-3 in blinkers when scoring in good style over C&D last Monday and may well be able to strike again under a penalty. Second choice is Aquamas, who had a near miss at Ayr last time and is a big player if she can repeat that form on her AW debut. Others to consider are Hostelry, who was placed behind the selection last week, and Rocket Rod, who showed signs of a revival with his staying-on third here 18 days ago.
18:00 Champagne Supernova
One Last Hug and Sleight were both placed over 6f last time but they will need another strong pace to aim at here. Ustath could help provide that and he isn’t ruled out back at 6f but CHAMPAGNE SUPANOVA may be the answer. He shaped nicely from a wide draw at Wolverhampton last time and this looks less competitive. Mr Trevor is another to consider.
18:30 Miss Connaisseur
The most interesting of these is MISS CONNAISSEUR, who appears to be getting the hang of things judged on last week’s effort in a C&D novice and improvement may well be on the way now that she ventures down the handicap route. Dylan’s Lad failed to measure up to market expectations here last time, but he is feared nonetheless. Kodi Gold is also shortlisted, along with Absolute Dream.
