13:05 Marajman
MARAJMAN looked very promising when making a winning start for Willie Mullins last year and can boast some pretty useful handicap form. He has since switched hands for £8,000 and, while he will probably be suited by further, he really ought to successfully concede weight all round down in class. Shanroe Tic Tec is anything but prolific and has to cope with a marked drop in distance but he’s still second choice.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
13:40 Saint Riquier
SAINT RIQUIER shaped pretty well on his first crack over hurdles at Ludlow earlier this month, his jumping holding him back on his debut in this sphere, but he is entitled to be sharper now and the cheekpieces go on. He could be hard to beat if building on that as expected in what doesn’t look the strongest race. There could be more to come from Tarseem, while Twilight Twist has to be respected as a runner in this sphere for Alan King.
14:15 Puffin Bay
A fair winner in bumpers, PUFFIN BAY shaped with plenty of promise and was arguably unlucky not to win when runner-up in an Exeter mares’ maiden earlier this month. She pulled well clear of the remainder with the well-backed winner and this longer trip promises to suit, so she is expected to be a big player again. There is undoubtedly depth in opposition, though, the threats headed up by Eavesdropping, Trapista and Giulietta.
14:50 Cadzand
CADZAND did well as a novice hurdler, winning three of his five starts, but he’s very much the type to make a better chaser being a good-looking successful pointer in a top yard. Dan Skelton’s novice chasers invariably jump very well and this sort of test should prove an ideal starting point for this exciting six-year-old. Millers Bank was the best of these over the smaller obstacles so is highly respected, while Xcitations may prove next best.

15:25 Above Suspicion
Not too many of these have convincing profiles, so perhaps the lightly-raced ABOVE SUSPICION can make a successful start to his chase career. A tall, rather unfurnished gelding he has all the attributes to do better in this sphere, and seemingly has been found a good opening. Orchestral Rain is another chase newcomer who commands respect, while Crooks Peak is on a long losing run but he really ought to be up to doing something from his reduced mark.
15:55 Uno Mas
UNO MAS has been rejuvenated recently and bolted up off this mark in a stronger race at Aintree last weekend so, if the race doesn’t come too soon, he shouldn’t have much trouble completing the hat-trick given he escapes a penalty due to the conditions of that race. Out The Glen is a viable danger on debut for Olly Murphy and Abington Park is likely to give his running once more.
