13:20 Zinc White

The most interesting runner is ZINC WHITE, who signed off for Ralph Beckett with two very convincing 1m6f Flat wins in May and changed hands for big money afterwards. He probably still has untapped potential on the Flat but his new connections are evidently very keen to launch his hurdling career. Fontwell winner George Bancroft probably won’t be far away if he handles today’s slower ground. Cornicello is an interesting recruit from the Flat in France.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

13:55 Doubleubee

Nikap is dangerously treated should a change of scenery recharge her batteries but DOUBLEUBEE, Pay The Woman, Jobesgreen Lad and Ranieri are all likely improvers now that their attentions are turned to fences. The selection won twice in Irish points and produced an encouraging run over hurdles at Sedgefield three weeks ago. Nikap is feared most.

14:30 Jazz King

Some of these are quite tricky to weigh up but the form JAZZ KING showed when second in a Fontwell bumper in January reads quite well and he might be the answer. Amenon makes his debut for Paul Nicholls after a very long absence but will be hard to beat if somewhere near the level of form he showed over fences in France. Jet Of Magic created a good visual impression when winning a Punchestown bumper in March and is next on the list.

15:05 Pipesmoker

This is an intriguing novice hurdle and not only due to the presence of PIPESMOKER, who will be hard to beat if reproducing his best form for Nicky Henderson. He remains in the same ownership despite moving yards and retains significant potential. Bill Baxter is feared most on the strength of his fourth in a seriously good bumper at Newbury, although Iron Bridge is another nice prospect and there are others in this field.

15:40 Blueberg (NAP)

Golden Emblem was progressive last season and returns with her yard going well and also respected on their returns from a break are Kuraka and Bembridge. However, a bit of recent match practice does not go amiss and the form of BLUEBERG (nap) at Stratford was boosted at Cheltenham last week. He gets the nod ahead of Sermando.

16:15 Lady KK

Whatsdastory is armed with plenty of chasing experience but she’s not the most convincing of jumpers and others in here have greater potential. LADY KK hacked up in a handicap hurdle here before finding the ground too fast at Taunton and she’s bred to raise her game as a chaser. Lilith is second choice, although Legends Ryde and Eleanor Bob also come into it.

16:50 Captain Drake

Gladiateur Allen stayed on for third in a hot 2m4f novices’ handicap at Sandown in March and probably has untapped potential over 3m this season but slight preference is for marathon chaser CAPTAIN DRAKE, who won a 2m7f hurdle off today’s mark on last season’s reappearance outing. Take Your Time is lightly raced and starts the new season on a good mark, while Colorado Doc and Eyeofthescorpion are likely to have a fitness edge over some of these.

17:20 Notlongtillmay

This could be a decent bumper with plenty of interest among the newcomers, while those with form are promising. NOTLONGTILLMAY ran nicely behind a shorter-priced stablemate with experience at Warwick and at 17-2 he didn’t appear to be unfancied himself. Feared most is Manothepeople who won his Irish point from one who is now a pretty useful hurdler housed in the same yard.
