NAP of the Day: Friday’s NAPs Table of horse racing tips in the UK & Ireland

The National Hunt season gets into stride as Cheltenham hosts its first meeting since the summer break – and our wicked NAPs Table is on hand to help you with your punting picks today.

We’ve gathered the best bet of the day from the leading horse racing tipsters in the United Kingdom and Ireland and listed the experts by their profit or loss to Level Stakes, so you know who’s in form and who, er, isn’t.

There are two meetings over Jumps and four on the Flat on a busy day of racing but there’s only one place to start. That’s right, Cheltenham. It’s the opening day of the Showcase meeting and all roads lead to next year’s Festival. There are seven renewals on the agenda at Prestbury Park and it all kicks off with a trio of Class 2 contests from 1.55pm.

Doncaster and Newbury are also under starters orders in the afternoon as they begin two-day meetings. If that wasn’t enough in the UK, Newcastle boasts evening fun under the lights on the all weather from 5.30pm.

On the other side of the Irish Sea, Sligo has a six-race National Hunt card for racegoers to enjoy from 1.10pm while Dundalk has action from the other code in the evening, with the Group 3 Mercury Stakes – being run in honour of Pat Smullen – being the feature.

Paul Kealy has taken an early lead at the top of the table since last weekend’s reset and the Weekender tipster is backing Redford Road in the 4.50pm at Cheltenham. Elsewhere at Cheltenham, Third Time Lucki is a bright prospect and has been selected by The Scout in the 2.30pm.
