Opposition to BASHFUL is thin on the ground and he ought to take the beating, having run to an RPR in the 70s in all but one run this year. Newcomer Michigan State may fare best of the others.

17:30 – Basholo
A tight nursery in which sole winner Bluebell Way can go well, with connections claiming 5lb off the penalised filly. Likely types Leap Abroad and Vintage Fashion will emerge from the widest two stalls so perhaps fellow handicap debutant BASHOLO is the one. She ran to an RPR of 63 when keeping on quite nicely in a fair Haydock maiden last time.
18:00 – Lady Xenia
No standout in this with newcomers Camrie Loch and Lady Clementine of interest, along with LADY XENIA and Al Husn, fifth and seventh when starting out in the same Newmarket contest last month. Both may need another furlong or more in time but it’s a long straight here and the Gosden runner is taken to emerge best again.
18:30 – Shoutout
Say Goodnight has possibilities, given how green she looked in the straight at Haydock, but SHOUTOUT hasn’t looked the finished article herself and can build on her close-up fourth over C&D last month. Brush Creek is third choice of those to have run while Orzo, half-sister to three winners with RPRs of 112, 111 and 109, is the pick of the newcomers.
19:00 – Bay Of Honour
An interesting contest. Amjad is perhaps the most eyecatching newcomer on paper and it would be no surprise to see him have a big say. Wodeton sets the standard and if he can take the preliminaries better than at Salisbury then he would have a good chance, while Wineglass Bay looks a probable contender. However, the suggestion is BAY OF HONOUR, whose debut form looks very solid and he is probably capable of a significant step up on that.
19:30 – Wizard DAmour
Eloquent Arthur is respected back over 7f, Shoot To Kill has a good chance if last week’s C&D effort can be reproduced and Vitalline is hard to rule out in his current form. However, WIZARD D’AMOUR (nap) is worth siding with, given that his first run since a gelding operation, in 0-85 company, can be marked up. This track promises to suit.
20:00 – Lovely Breeze
There’s an open look to this with Rock Boy Grey a probable major player if he can take another step up on his latest effort, while Boogie Time should be another contender if acting on this surface. Several others can have some sort of case made but preference is for LOVELY BREEZE, who should be suited by 6f round here. She ran well in a better race last time and can take advantage of a slight drop in grade.
20:30 – Impressions Dream
The suggestion is IMPRESSIONS DREAM. Clive Cox’s filly has a bit to prove after her last run, but the return to this trip looks positive, a 3lb drop should help and this could be a good time to catch her. Enchanted Night is respected and Lady Amalthea is not written off in different headgear.
