13:00 – Impulsive One
IMPULSIVE ONE was a progressive over middle distances for William Haggas on the Flat and has made a faultless start over hurdles for this yard. He bolted up on debut in this sphere at Plumpton last month and completed a simple task with any amount in hand under a penalty at Huntingdon last time. This looks another excellent opportunity for him despite having a double penalty to shoulder. Painless Potter and Rhebus Road are both worthy of note on hurdling debut, but will have their work cut out to peg back the selection.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
13:30 – Naizagai
It is tough to rule any of these out, but it is NAIZAGAI, who matched his hurdles form at the first time of asking when finishing runner-up at Sedgefield earlier this month, is taken to build on that initial experience. He appeared to react well to first-time cheekpieces on that occasion and he will continue to be of interest with his handy weight-for-age allowance. Light N Strike is the type to make a better chaser so Emma Lavelle’s charge could provide the main danger.
14:05 – Cobblers Dream
COBBLERS DREAM created a good impression when winning a bumper in Ireland and repeated the dose over hurdles for new connections at Warwick last month. He travelled strongly in a first-time hood on that occasion, shaping like a horse destined for better things, and he should be able to follow up now stepping into listed company. Tulin disappointed when last seen in May but won both outings for Paul Nicholls prior to that, so is worth another chance for a bang in-form yard.
14:40 – Mercian Prince
MERCIAN PRINCE ran his best race for a while in a change of headgear when a close second at Worcester five weeks ago, given an aggressive ride and kicked on again early in the straight, looking in control jumping the last but he was just collared in the dying strides. He may get another easy lead once more and he looks the percentage call here. Goa Lil has been in good form over hurdles of late and beat a subsequent winner when last seen over fences at Stratford in August, so rates the main threat.

15:15 – Sceau Royal
There is little to choose on form between SCEAU ROYAL and Silver Streak, but the former has an excellent record when fresh and just edges the vote. He won the Welsh Champion Hurdle (strong form) from a BHA mark of 150 on his return last year before going on to win over fences, and he could prove too sharp for Silver Streak, who can also boast a brilliant record when fresh and won this race easy 12 months ago.
15:50 – The Composeur
THE COMPOSEUR has made an encouraging start to life over fences, leaving his debut form well behind when winning a handicap at Southwell in June, and is fancied to get back to winning ways after his Uttoxeter fall last time when still going strongly. Mister Tickle rates a big threat in his bid for a four-timer with Wye Aye also likely to have a say on the back of his recent Perth success.
16:25 – Gala De Corton
A chance is taken on GALA DE CORTON, who showed ability in bumpers last term, and is bred to come into his own now jumping over a longer trip. He represents an in-form yard and he is likely to prove very popular. Cardboard Gangster is weighted to turn around last month’s Kelso form with Zafar so he’s feared most unless the betting speaks in the favour of Emma Lavelle newcomer Wild Wilbur.
