13:10 Naas – Karkiyna

KARKIYNA has the most experience and the best form in the book and should get off the mark in the opening 6-furlong maiden on Sunday. The Johnny Murtagh trained filly has raced behind Sacred Bridge, Homeless Songs and Panama Red this season before finishing second to Sablonne here over course and distance last month. The dam side of her pedigree suggests she should handle juice in the ground and she’s the one to beat from Upbeat who should improve for Jessica Harrington.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

13:20 Cork – Molly Glory

Despite only getting her head in front once, MOLLYS GLORY has shown good ability in several starts and can challenge for victory in this opening maiden hurdle. The daughter of Fame And Glory won her bumper at Thurles back in February before finishing second and fourth behind Party Central and Grangee at both the Fairyhouse and Punchestown Festivals. Despite only finishing second on her hurdles debut at Downpatrick and perhaps needing the run at Gowran, she’s on the shortlist to win.

13:40 Naas – El Magnifique

Ger Lyons has an excellent record in this race and runs Kirsapp with the son of Dawn Approach returning after a disappointing run at Navan earlier this month. EL MAGNIFIQUE catches the eye for Michael O’Callaghan having finished a nice third on debut at Bellewstown. The form of that race was enhanced slightly on Thursday when Special Power finished a narrow second at the Curragh. Elsewhere, Pearle D’Or and Lucky San Jore warrant respect for Jessica Harrington and Dermot Weld.

14:50 Naas – Oodnadatta

The listed Garnet Stakes has been dominated by three-year-olds in the past decade and that trend will hopefully continue in the first of our feature races on Sunday. The Jessica Harrington team remain in excellent form and her OODNADATTA has a solid chance of getting her head back in front under Shane Foley. The daughter of Australia has finished behind the likes of Thundering Nights, Earlswood, Acanella and La Petite Coco in group company this season.

She dropped into the listed Navigation Stakes at Cork last month and showed a nice turn of foot in the closing furlong when staying on for third place. Elysium, Neptune Rock and Rocket Science were all in behind on that occasion and I see no reason why the form should be reversed on Sunday. Elsewhere, Emaniya and Moddy Poddle look dangers for Dermot Weld and Shelia Lavery having finished second and sixth in Group 3 company at Gowran last month.

16:15 Cork – Poseidon

Abbey Magic has improved 11Ibs for Henry de Bromhead since winning this race last year and has been extremely consistent over fences. The ten-year-old has won five of her twelve chase starts and hasn’t finished outside the first five-places since success 12-months-ago. She returns here having finished third in the PWC Chase at Gowran Park last month and another solid run looks on the cards.

However, POSEIDON gets the verdict despite being a novice and not winning over fences yet for Charles Byrnes. The son of Born To Sea performed well over hurdles and has finished second twice in four chase starts since July. His second to Embittered at Killarney reads well with Joseph O’Brien’s runner winning a graded novice race at Punchestown earlier this week. An opening handicap mark of 130, along with this trip and hopefully a clear jumping display can see him challenge for victory.

17:05 Naas – Barrington Court

It’s hard to get away from the Jessica Harrington team at present and BARRINGTON COURT can hopefully secure back to back wins in the Bluebell Stakes in the finale at Naas. The J.P McManus owned seven-year-old has only raced twice this year since securing victory in this listed contest last year. She returns having finished a good fourth to Twilight Payment in the St Leger Trial at HQ in August and once again races of an official rating of 107.

She won this race off that mark 12-months ago and receives weight from Thunder Kiss who races here for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane. It’s been an excellent fortnight for the Newtown Anner Stud who are banging in the winners and this filly has been ultra-consistent for them this season. Her success in the Munster Oaks stays out as excellent from alongside her defeats when second in the Give Thanks Paddy Power Stakes in recent starts – she’s without a doubt the main danger.
