13.25 – Hamish
All eyes will be focused on Stradivarius and Trueshan, so it leaves a little gap for HAMISH to drop in and track them as they round the bend for home. Those two should be playing ‘cat and mouse’ up front, but Hamish looks like he’ll get his ideal conditions and to me has more of a finishing kick than the other two. He beat Hukum in a sprint finish at Kempton and is still progressing.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
14.00 – Dragon Symbol
Archie Watson’s DRAGON SYMBOL is one of the unluckiest runners to grace the turf this season and is long overdue a first Group 1 success and it can fall his way in this massive field. He could also prove a vital winner in the chase for the jockeys championship too for Oisin Murphy. He looks to finally have his ideal conditions with the ground likely to ride on the easy side of good, which will enable him to produce that telling late change of gear that has been blunted on much softer conditions this season.
14.35 – Snowfall
It’s not the strongest renewal of this Group 1 Fillies and Mares Stakes and SNOWFALL is someway clear on official ratings of 120 which makes her virtually impossible to oppose, as she looks to back up her sixth-place finish in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. She should surely travel around on the bridle and get the job done and probably has most to fear from course and distance winner Albaflora.
15.10 – Master Of The Seas (each-way)
MASTER OF THE SEAS put up a cracking return to action on his seasonal debut at HQ when third to Benbatl. I saw him in the paddock that day and he is going to take a massive step forward from that. He looked like he hadn’t taken his head out of the feed bucket that day (a bit like myself) and we can expect an improved, sleeker, sharper model to turn up for this gig. Palace Pier and Baaeed will be all the rage at the head of the market but Masters Of The Seas comes in under the radar, despite posting an excellent second to Poetic Flare in the 2,000 Guineas earlier this season.
15.50 – Adayar
ADAYAR looks to back up an excellent run in France where he was asked to quicken on two occasions and did remarkably well to finish a close fourth to Torquator Tasso in the Arc. He drops back down to 1m 2f under what should be his ideal ground conditions and he can confirm the King George VI Stakes at Ascot with Mishriff, despite being 7lbs worse off. It’s great that the Epsom Derby winner turns up and we hopefully will get to see his brilliance throughout next season as well.
16.30 – King Leonidas
The Gosden’s KING LEONIDAS put up a brilliant performance on his return to action off a mammoth layoff when running a decent third to Injazati at Newbury in a hot handicap. That would’ve put him spot on for this assignment and he is chasing a massive pot and that has obviously been a target. His stablemate Sunray Major is tight at the top of the market so if you are looking for an each-way alternative to the Gosden pair, Kenzai Warrior looks a big price after a recent win at Kempton.
