Hamundarson looked like a nice prospect last season and sets the standard on jumps form but it might be worth taking a chance on BARBADOS on his first start over hurdles. He’s proven at Group level on the Flat and if he can transfer a fair chunk of that ability to this sphere, he could be hard to beat. Course winner My Mate Mozzie could be another to keep on side.

13:45 Romella (NAP)

This is a decent race for the grade but ROMELLA (nap) looks capable of landing the hat-trick having won a competitive event last time out and she only has a 6lb rise to cope with. Runner-up from that contest, Go Gill Go, should be in the mix again and Dawson’s Cottage is the type to bounce back.

14:20 Kitty Galore

She’s not the most consistent but KITTY GALORE lurks on a dangerous mark and she might be worth chancing in an open race. Stablemate Bonarc can’t be ruled out after her career best last time and Mighty Meggsie is in good form at present.

Rich Belief should be involved again and Whatsnotoknow is feasibly handicapped. However, GRANGE WALK is interesting from his much reduced hurdles mark and he had been in career-best form before a disappointing run last time when seemingly amiss.

Five of these met in a Grade 3 at Roscommon last month and EXIT POLL can confirm the form, despite having to carry more weight this time. He battled on gamely to win that day and the step up in trip ought to yield further improvement. Embittered is 7lb better off for a narrow defeat but his propensity to jump left is a little off-putting, particularly here. Bold Enough should appreciate the longer trip this time.

16:05 Brahma Bull

Only three of these have strong credentials. Galvin has to be seriously respected but this race sets up nicely for BRAHMA BULL, for all that this is a very different test to the one he encountered at Listowel last time when a neck in front of stablemate Annamix. A 4lb swing at the weights in favour of the selection is another handy asset in what has the potential to be a trappy race.

16:40 Hey Johnny

HEY JOHNNY’s experience should stand him in very good stead here, fancied to just edge out Listowel scorer Esperti in a somewhat trappy bumper to conclude proceedings. Any market confidence behind Lieutenant Highway should be noted.
