Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of the four best performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets…
Roger Varian’s ELDAR ELDAROV is a two-year-old Dubawi colt who cost £110,000 as a yearling. He is also a half-brother to A La Voile, who was useful mile to mile-and-a-quarter winner. His Dam All At Sea was a mile-and-a-quarter/11f winner, while his half-sister to tidy winner up to 11 furlongs. David Egan is booked to ride.
POPPY PETAL is a front-runner was runner-up in a novice at Catterick last month when she wasn’t quite on her game. The visor, which is on today, could add a bit more enthusiasm to her performance and Keith Dalgleish’s filly should be in the mix in this one.
Since switching to handicapping INCUMBENT has ramped up his game and he was a close third of seven at Lingfield’s all-weather track nine days ago. He gets to race off the same mark and Clive Cox’s could be bang there challenging at the line.
FACT OR FABLE may only have one win from 37 Flat runs, but hear us out! The gelding was a respectable fourth of 11 in 8-furlong handicap at Bath just 16 days ago, having been suited by way race played out. He can give another good account of himself in this.
