Hurry Up Hedley did well to win at Wolverhampton last time but he wouldn’t be sure to confirm the placings with Twistaline and he may need more in any case. Alphonse Le Grande still has potential, while nursery debutants Franklin Saint, Klip Klopp and Under Oath need monitoring for market confidence. FAST STYLE showed more when finishing strongly for second over C&D last week though and he can go one better now dropped into a Class 6.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
18:00 – Calm Universe
Turn Back Time appeals most of the previous winners but there are some potential improvers lurking. Bellstreet Bridie, Ladypacksapunch and Astrobrio are in that category but so is CALM UNIVERSE and she may be the answer now tackling 1m for the first time. Greenscape is a well-bred newcomer and needs a look in the betting.
18:30 – Pinball Wizard
The addition of blinkers has helped things click for PINBALL WIZARD (nap) and he can add another C&D success to his record. Puerto De Vega drops in trip for his stable debut but he looks on a very fair mark and may provide the stiffest resistance.
19:00 – Treacherous
Not a strong race for 0-105 company but intriguing all the same. Motagally ran very well in the Ayr Gold Cup and is high on the shortlist, along with last year’s winner Open Wide, Ice Station Zebra and Papa Stour. Everything looks in place for a big run from TREACHEROUS though and he can gain his eighth course success.
19:30 – Ocean Heights
Crafter has probably the best form after his two runs in the mud in France but preference is for the more recent AW promise shown first time out by Cu Chulainn. However, both may find that bumper winner OCEAN HEIGHTS is a vastly more attractive proposition today than he was when shaping well over 1m on his recent Flat debut. Mawkeb needs a second look and New Force is a newcomer to check out.
20:00 – Pearl Bay
This is competitive for a race of its type with a few runners of interest. Beloved, Hot Chesnut and Verreaux Eagle enter calculations but PEARL BAY wasn’t seen to best effect on her handicap debut at Sandown last month and she’s capable of much better.
20:30 – Good Soul
Restitution looks a dour stayer and this first attempt at 2m could prompt a surge of improvement. Maketh Believeth’s latest fifth is solid form and he can progress again back at 2m but last month’s C&D winner GOOD SOUL is unexposed at 2m herself and a 4lb rise for that win may not prevent a follow up.
