13:45 Newmarket – Bluegrass
I’m going with Bluegrass, who is by Galileo. Seamie Heffernan won on him at the Curragh last time out where he stayed really well to fend off Good Heavens. The step up in trip will really suit him too. He looked like he wanted every yard of the mile at the Curragh and he gets more here.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
14:02 York – Alotaibi
I like Alotaibi for John and Thady Gosden. He won over 7f at Newbury and followed that up with a second at Ascot in September. Coming down in trip will suit him too.
14:20 Newmarket – Coroebus
Coroebus got rolling too early in the Royal Lodge at Newmarket and was too keen heading into the dip. As a result, he just didn’t get home. It’s the same trip again here and he just has to settle better. He’s the best horse in the race but he has to settle if he’s going to win.
14:37 York – Platinumcard
I fancy Platinumcard for Keith Dalgleish, who has Billy Garritty on board. He’s been up in the weights and rose as high as 98 but he’s 96 here. An inside draw can be a huge help at York and Platinumcard has just that.

14:55 Newmarket – Native Trail or Glounthaune
I’m all over Native Trail and I’ve been with him since the start. I was with him in the National Stakes and his form stacks up brilliantly after beating Point Lonsdale. If you don’t want to back the favourite, my each-way pick is Glounthaune. He beat Castle Star on debut at the Curragh back in April. Ryan Moore is on board for Aidan O’Brien.
15:15 York – Laugh A Minute
I’m on Laugh A Minute, who’s ran well in his last few runs at the Curragh recently. It’s a wide-open race so he’ll do me!
15:35 Newmarket – M C Muldoon or Micro Manage
The value of Willie Mullins’ runners is definitely Micro Manage. He’s been a bit hit and miss and had a couple of bad runs over jumps but he should stay and he’s a decent each-way shout. If I had to pick one to ride purely from a jockey’s point of view, I’d have gone with M C Muldoon or Burning Victory. Ryan Moore is on M C Muldoon, who had a cracking run at Ascot. He wore a hood that day and he’s won at Galway since. I can see why he’s the favourite, he’s guaranteed to stay and he’s in good form. Burning Victory has had two runs on the Flat in France where she won at Deauville and Lyon Parilly. Jumping hasn’t been her strongest aspect, but she did well in the Galway Hurdle in July.
