13:45 Newmarket – Goldspur
ITV Racing Saturday gets under way here with the Group 3 Zetland Stakes over 1m2f for staying youngsters. GOLDSPUR looked all about stamina on debut at Sandown and might be another for the very strong Charlie Appleby team. The son of Dubawi powered up the Sandown hill looking like a horse who would relish another 2f. There is an element of guesswork here, but he must have a good chance even though seemingly a second string. James Doyle up is no hindrance.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
14:02 York – Ever Given
ITV are also at York for this Listed Rockingham Stakes over youngsters over 6f. EVER GIVEN has been a super horse for Tom Dascombe this season and should give Danny Tudhope a great spin. The Kodi Bear colt was a fine winner at York two runs ago and ran equally well when touched off over a bit further at Doncaster last time. He has every chance.
14:20 Newmarket – Coroebus
Now the Group 3 Autumn Stakes for juveniles over 1m. It was very easy to fall in love with COROEBUS at Newmarket last time and with that experience under his belt he must take some stopping again for Charlie Appleby. William Buick is up here and he will surely delay his challenge longer this time having been picked up late by the rallying Royal Patronage in the Royal Lodge.
14:37 York – Good Birthday
A handicap here over an extended 1m2f. GOOD BIRTHDAY might pop up here at a decent price for Andrew Balding and Sylvester de Sousa. Last seen in the Cambridgeshire in 13th place, Good Birthday was a good winner at Doncaster three runs ago off a mark of 91. He’s only 1lb higher here and should at least have each way claims.

14:55 Newmarket – Native Trail
Love this race. It’s the Group 1 Dewhurst for two-year-old colts over 7f. On what I expect to be a cracking day for Charlie Appleby, it’s easy to think NATIVE TRAIL will be very hard to beat here. The son of Oasis Dream powered clear of Point Lonsdale and Ebro River in the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curragh last time and I expect him to land this with ease. William Buick is on top.
15:15 York – Mr Wagyu
A big sprint handicap over 6f. A wide open affair. MR WAGYU was a great winner at Goodwood a few runs back and has been consistent since then at Doncaster, Ayr and York. He stays this trip well and goes with juice in the ground so have each way claims for John Quinn and Jason Hart provided low draws are not at a disadvantage.
15:35 Newmarket – Buzz
The big betting race of the day in the Cesarewitch Handicap over 2m2f. BUZZ is just the type to run really well in this for Nicky Henderson and champion Oisin Murphy. My hope is a very talented hurdler who ran really well over two and a half miles at Aintree when last seen in April at top level. He’s never gone extreme distances on the Flat, but he’s strengthened up since he was last on the level and he brings in plenty of class. He needs to be played late. He reminds me of Landing Light for Henderson who won this in 2003 under Pat Eddery.
