Horse Racing tips: Ruby Walsh’s best bets for Friday’s ITV Racing

13:50 Newmarket – Tardis

I like Tardis of Michael Bell, with James Doyle on board. She ran over 6f at Salisbury last month but it didn’t quite go to plan. Prior to that, she won at Newbury and Bath. It’s a decent enough price so might be worth looking at in an each-way punt.

14:45 Chepstow – Paso Doble

Paso Doble had a good run on his first start for Paul Nicholls at Kempton. He then went on to win in May but has had a summer break. First Street and Coeur Serein could be threats but I’m not confident on their ratings so I’ll take Paso Doble over them.

15:00 Newmarket – Chindit

I’m already off the cliff from following Chindit so I may as well keep going! He’s bordering on a Group 1 horse and he’s dropping down to Group 2 here. I know he ran in the Celebration Mile last time out which is also a Group 2 but he’s better than that. There’s a race in Chindit and I’m hoping it’s on Friday!

15:15 York – Raising Sand

This race is wide open so well done if you pick the winner! I’ll side with Raising Sand in a small each-way punt. Nicola Currie is on board for Jamie Osborne. He’s top weight, drawn in stall two, the distance is good – that’ll do me.

15:35 Newmarket – Inspiral

Inspiral is a good thing and I’d be getting stuck in on her. The price isn’t actually that bad considering how much better she is than the rest.

15:50 York – Surrey Gold

I’m on Surrey Gold, who’s down 3lbs from his run in the Melrose at York. Hughie Morrison is a shrewd trainer and the ground could be ideal too.

16:10 Newmarket – Candleford

Punters will be looking for a Group 1 horse in this race and is there one? Maybe, but nothing is jumping out to me. Boltaway has gone up 6lbs since his win at Newmarket last month. I actually like Candleford. I know he wasn’t good enough for Chalk Stream at Ascot but Adam Farragher taking 5lbs is key. He did well over 10f at Windsor in August and 1m4f suits him. He’ll do for me!
