14:13 – True Romance

Although Just Call Me Al is respected following his C&D win last week, this can go to TRUE ROMANCE (nap) who has been in good form on the Flat since joining Neil Mulholland and returns to hurdling on a good mark.

14:48 – Joey Steel

Not a great deal of depth to this and the improving JOEY STEEL looks to have been found a good opportunity to make it a third win in four starts. Crank Em Up likes it here and could bounce back to better form, while recent Hexham winner Supreme Steel is also respected. However, Dutch Canyon is effective here and may present the biggest danger to the selection.

15:23 – Call The Fairies

Although yet to win over hurdles, CALL THE FAIRIES ran well on several occasions for her former yard and is taken to break her duck on her stable debut. Previous winners Dazzling Glory and Miss Tara Moss are obvious dangers.

Despite the claims of Northern Bound, who escapes a penalty for last week’s Bangor win, this can go to the Irish raider TURBO who is much better than he showed over an inadequate trip at Sligo last time.

16:33 – Blue Hawaii

Potentially competitive for the grade. Lord Caprio won well at Hexham and could go close in this follow-up attempt. Lucky Robin should be thereabouts, while Treasured Company is also considered and cheekpieces may help him to complete this time. However, a chance is taken on BLUE HAWAII, who is unexposed, goes well fresh and returns after a break that included wind surgery. Ottavio is not ruled out.

17:05 – Crack Du Ninian

With most of these having their first run over fences this looks a tricky contest. The choice is CRACK DU NINIAN, who has won a point-to-point and went well over this C&D over hurdles. Jamacho and Raffles Gitane are two others to consider.
