Got No Dollars is very much a player after improving to get off the mark at Chelmsford last month, but THAKI is taken to complete the hat-trick. He still has to prove himself on Polytrack, but he hasn’t been with this stable for that long and may be progressing generally. AW newcomer Bluebird Day looks best of the others.

17:30 Night Of Luxury

It’s worth watching the market with regard to the newcomers, with Sense Of Power and Distant Light the most interesting, but a couple of these have already shown ability. Blueberry Hill is respected with the form of the C&D race in which he finished second on his debut working out so well, but preference is for NIGHT OF LUXURY, who may be better suited to this track after also finishing runner-up on his Wolverhampton debut. His Vertem Futurity entry suggests he is held in some regard.

18:00 My Dubawi

Despite another 6lb hike in the weights Odisseo is in such good form that the hat-trick must be a distinct possibility, but a chance is taken with MY DUBAWI. He hasn’t built on a promising debut, but his breeding suggests he may improve for this new surface and he is well drawn. His stablemate Golden Sands remains open to improvement now handicapping, but he would have made greater appeal from a lower draw and a better alternative may be Pneumatic, who is bred to be suited by this extra furlong.

18:30 Quilted (NAP)

An interesting handicap in which City Tour appears to have the best proven AW form, but there are a couple of potential improvers up against him. Going Gone is clearly a player having escaped a penalty for his easy Epsom win nine days ago, but preference is for QUILTED (nap) who can make a successful AW/handicap debut. This well-bred filly remains open to plenty more improvement and her pedigree suggests she should handle the surface.

19:00 Knight of Kings

Any number to consider in an open handicap, including old Wolverhampton rivals Tazaman and Wadacre Gogo, who are closely matched on revised terms. Mrs Meader has been expensive to follow but had excuses last time and should do better, while the lightly raced Spy Legend is evidently felt capable at this level having started short prices in three handicaps to date. The vote, though, goes to KNIGHT OF KINGS, who came away with a subsequent winner off this mark last time and can continue his progression.

19:30 Reelemin

There looked to be no fluke about REELEMIN’s easy beating of the short-priced Aldbourne at Ffos Las nine days ago, when giving Hughie Morrison his first 2yo winner of the season, and he’s fancied to confirm placings on 6lb worse terms. Night Arc, who looks the pick of Richard Hannon’s trio, is another to consider.

20:00 Espresso Freddo

Not a race to get too heavily involved with. Longstanding maiden Prize Fighting, who bumped into one last time, and infrequent winner Moxy Mares both hold claims, but ESPRESSO FREDDO tends to come good around this time of year and should do much better than on his return from four months off last time.

20:30 Whatzupwithme

Wind surgery has helped Proclaimer, who ended a run of costly defeats when justifying favouritism over C&D last time. There’s little between him and third-placed Carpentier on revised terms and the temptation is to look elsewhere, with the well-related WHATZUPWITHME given the nod. Buckingham will find this company easier and is another to consider among the likely bigger prices.
