Larch Hill produced a career best when winning last time, but his record suggests that he will find it tough to repeat the feat from this mark. A rejuvenated Demon D’Aunou would be capable of getting heavily involved again but preference is for ELKSTONE, whose trainer was back among the winners on Sunday. He is taken to win this for a third time in succession.

The selection is bumper winner and hurdles newcomer ARGONAUTA, although the more battle-hardened Island Nation is respected. The others have something to prove although bumper winner Bricklagger is worth a look in the betting now hurdling for his in-form yard.

15:40 Achy Breaky Heart

There is rain forecast overnight, which might not benefit any of these. ACHY BREAKY HEART is in a consistent run of form and she’s preferred to Railway Muice, who was hit with a 12lbs rise for winning so well at Market Rasen. Game In The Park has never won a race, but could still have some say.

With a repeat of his Uttoxeter effort CHAMPAGNE NOIR (NAP) could take a bit of beating back at the scene of his sole success. Blue Sans is just preferred to Presenting Yeats for second choice.

17:50 Toucan Sam

With no form to go on market movements are naturally awaited with interest. Frankel’s son TOUCAN SAM looks the part on paper and his stable does well in these races. Alazwar is another whose career should have started off on the Flat, but he too has to be of interest, along with Mamoon Star.
