13:00 – Miquelon

MIQUELON has improved for the fitting of cheekpieces lately and his latest success over C&D was convincing, so he’s an obvious choice to go in again. Animal Instinct, although off for a year prior to this, remains with potential trying this trip for the first time, so he’s regarded as the main threat ahead of Il Bandito.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

13:30 – Incumbent

INCUMBENT found only one too good having put up a bold bid from the front on nursery debut at Kempton a month ago and, with further improvement expected, he’s narrowly preferred to Bolton Abbey, whose opening mark seems reasonable based on what he’s achieved. Fozzie Bear is another one to have on the radar.

14:00 – Nations Pride

NATIONS PRIDE ran a race full of promise when second in a better race than this at Yarmouth on debut and he should have little trouble going one better. Luis Fernando is open to improvement and may pose the main threat, while King Cabo isn’t a forlorn hope for all he’s rather dependant on the selection fluffing his lines.

14:30 – Escobedo

A pretty uninspiring contest which can go the way of ESCOBEDO. Richard Hannon’s charge was possibly stretched by the 1½m trip at Kempton 12 days ago and, dropped to this company for the first time, he’s taken to get off the mark. Fae The Port heads the dangers with his reappearance under his belt, ahead of Tara Iti.

15:00 – My Frankel

The ones at the top of the weights could be worth focusing on here, with the vote going to MY FRANKEL. Sir Michael Stoute’s charge ran too badly to be true at Ascot last month and, with his mark easing a shade further, he can get back to winning ways. 5-time C&D winner Petite Jack is feared most having bounced back to form from out of the blue at Wolverhampton last time, ahead of Shandoz.

15:30 – Tarhib

A potential match on paper between TARHIB and Shobiz, with preference for the former after having made a promising debut when runner-up at Newmarket 11 months ago. This looks an ideal opportunity for William Haggas’ filly to open her account with improvement a distinct possibility. Shobiz has been placed on all 4 starts so he’s the obvious threat, with Next Victory also worth a mention.

16:00 – Morty

MORTY has been eased 2 lb following a respectable effort at Chelmsford 9 days ago so he could well be the answer despite his wide draw. George Scott seems to have found his level and can remain competitive, while Letmestopyouthere is another to take seriously given he’s capable fresh.
