13:37 – Unanswered Prayers

With so little form of substance, the market moves need a particularly close look. Dionysis is preferred to Jet Plane and Mister Sweets among those who have run over hurdles, but this may be a suitable opportunity for UNANSWERED PRAYERS to go one better than he did on his bumper debut at Kempton.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

14:12 – Summit Like Herbie

Writteninthesand might well be the answer if able to hold his form on this softer ground but there have to be doubts on that score. Preference is for the fairly handicapped SUMMIT LIKE HERBIE, in the hope he can return from a break with all guns blazing. Light Flicker can go well and Sunny Express is also of interest on the back of wind surgery.

14:47 – Simply True

Orchard Grove is probably still on a workable mark after a 3lb rise for his Stratford win in August but the forecast slower ground here is a nagging concern and preference is for SIMPLY TRUE, who is suited by underfoot ease. David Jeffreys’ 4yo hasn’t yet come close to transferring his useful Irish Flat form to hurdles but he shaped with more promise than his eventual 20l defeat might suggest at Newton Abbot in August and remains unexposed in this sphere. Cryogenics is also considered.

15:22 – Gaia Vallis

Handicap debutants Let’s Get Real and Bentley Wood are both open to improvement, while Good Bye and Sideshift are others to monitor in the betting. However, winning chaser GAIA VALLIS ran a big race in defeat in a Fontwell novice hurdle last month and will be a tough nut to crack if in similar form here. Let’s Get Real is feared most.

16:00 – Milkwood

While all are promising recruits to chasing, MILKWOOD has the best hurdles form and has been seen in easily the most recent action, when continuing his improvement to be runner-up in the Galway Hurdle. Faivoir has the next best chance on hurdles form and has had a wind operation since his latest start, as has Shantou Express, while fourth in the Betfair Hurdle last time reiterated the promise of Annual Invictus.

16:35 – Copper Coin

Havana Hermano can give another very good account if the ground is no worse than good to soft but the suggestion is COPPER COIN (nap), who ended last season in very good form, has a good record when fresh and is not yet fully exposed. Justatenner is getting long in the tooth now and has regressed this year but a strong gallop here might enable him to pose a threat off his much-reduced mark.

17:10 – Valence DAumont

Crooks Peak is dangerously handicapped and Dan Skelton will win a race with him sooner or later, but VALENCE D’AUMONT may be the answer to this. He was never on an even keel around Cartmel last time and went there with a progressive profile. Darling Du Large and Fort De L’Ocean are also entitled to have a say.

17:40 – Grand Lord

Stuart Edmunds would appear to have his horses fairly forward and GRAND LORD is one of the stronger contenders on form. Sandy Brook is next best, though Another Brown Bear, The Bomber Liston, Smoking Pigeon and Jersey should all have some improvement in them.
